Take Action and save the life of Dr. Sami Al-Arian!
Save a life! Palestinian activist Dr. Sami Al-Arian was acquitted in 2005
of bogus "terrorism" charges by a Tampa Bay jury, yet he still remains
imprisoned in the United States.
Dr. Sami Al-Arian is currently on the fifteenth day of a no food or water hunger
strike to protest the legal manipulations and harassment by the Bush Administration
that are keeping him behind bars despite his acquittal by jury and subsequent
plea bargain (signed under significant pressure from the U.S. government) that
promised his release in May of 2006.
Dr. Al-Arian, a diabetic, is already losing his eyesight and is in extraordinary
danger of renal failure. The federal medical facility where he has been moved
to in Bunter, North Carolina has not given him an IV, despite their legal obligation
to keep him alive. The situation is urgent! Please write immediately to your
elected officials and the federal medical facility to protest this legal harassment
and torture and to demand his release. Dr. Al-Arian’s life depends on it.

On March 19, 2008 – the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq – Direct
Action to Stop the War (http://www.actagainstwar.net/)
will be organizing a day of decentralized, multiple-target direct action against
government offices and war profiteers in downtown San Francisco. We have created
a list (see the website) of San Francisco offices of federal agencies, corporations
with military contracts or contracts in Iraq, politicians who have failed to
stop the war, and foreign embassies of countries linked to the war in Iraq.
We are focusing primarily on corporations with military or Iraqi contracts,
because we want to focus attention on the prominent role played by war-profiteering
corporations in the U.S. occupation of Iraq. We will take direct action on March
19th against as many of these locations as possible, in order to send a clear
message to the economic and political elites that control this country: No business
as usual until all U.S. troops are withdrawn from Iraq!
**How you can plug into the March 19th San Francisco Day of Direct Action:**
We?re asking that you:
On March 19, 2008, we will set up a nonviolent blockade of the national Internal
Revenue Service headquarters in Washington, DC, as part of the day of actions
against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Just as military recruiters supply the bodies for the war, the IRS supplies
the funding. Just as some soldiers have the courage to resist the war, we —
as tax payers — should have the courage to resist paying the taxes that
send soldiers to war. We call on all war opponents to help dramatize our opposition
and to disrupt business as usual by joining this nonviolent blockade.
For at least this one day — March 19, 2008 — we need to create
a disturbance in the smug complacency of the IRS/Pentagon money-axis.
We will gather in our affinity groups at 7 am on Wednesday morning, March 19,
at McPherson Sq., 15th & K Sts. NW. From these areas we will march —
with the Rude Mechanical Orchestra — to the IRS main entrance at 1111
Constitution Ave. (at 12th Street), NW, and across from the Smithsonian’s
Museum of Natural History. Once at the entrance, some of us will sit down to
prevent the IRS from opening as usual, while others will hold signs and banners,
pass out flyers, talk with passersby, and generally call attention to the cost
of the war and our collective responsibility to stop funding it.
911Truth.org will post a series of articles about events, actions, plans for this horrible fifth anniversary of the War on Iraq. You will not agree with the ideology of every group taking action, but that’s the beauty of this massive People’s Movement! If you don’t like what one group is doing, don’t do it. Find, or create, something else (and tell us about your national group’s event–webmaster (at) 911truth.org). But no matter how you feel about what other Americans are doing, appreciate that SO MANY of us are taking some kind of action.
We hope every reader will find a way to get involved this week. This is your Republic. Act like it!
In 1971, a courageous group of veterans exposed the criminal nature of the Vietnam War in an event called Winter Soldier. This weekend, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War will give first-person accounts of what is really happening day in and day out, on the ground. The event will bring together veterans from across the country to testify about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan – and present video and photographic evidence of war crimes they have witnessed. In addition, there will be panels of scholars, veterans, journalists, and other specialists to give context to the testimony. These panels will cover everything from the history of the GI resistance movement to the fight for veterans’ health benefits and support.

AN APPEAL TO CONSCIENCE
In Support of Those Refusing to Pay for War
“Let them march all they want, as long as they continue to pay their taxes.”
–Gen. Alexander Haig, U.S. Secretary of State, June 12, 1982
“If a thousand [people] were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them and enable the state to commit violence and shed innocent blood.”
–Henry David Thoreau, during Mexican-American War of 1846-48
To all people of goodwill everywhere:
We stand in profound opposition to our government”s aerial bombardment, military invasion, and armed occupation of Iraq, which we consider morally reprehensible and an outrage against conscience and humanity. The reasons for our opposition, in brief, include the following:
This series of military actions has cost the lives of thousands of Iraqi soldiers and hundreds of American soldiers, and it has resulted in even greater numbers of people left injured, orphaned, and widowed. It has further devastated Iraq”s already crippled infrastructure, which was destroyed by U.S. aerial bombardment in 1991, further depriving countless Iraqi children as well as adults of adequate electricity, clean water, sewage treatment, and medical facilities. It has increased the likelihood of terrorist attacks against the U.S., its citizens, and those of our military allies. It has caused untold damage to the environment and human health, including that of American soldiers, as a result of the depleted uranium used… Continue reading

It is now undeniable that the Federal Government has failed us completely.
We have asked our representatives to hold the Bush Administration accountable.
Instead, they have blocked the Impeachment movement all over our country.
As we approach the anniversary of the illegal Iraq invasion, we have not given
up on the idea of holding the criminals in the Bush Administration or those
who enable them accountable. Justice can only come through peace. Since the
Bush administration has insisted they will not end the occupation while they’re
in office, if we wish for the occupation to end before 1/20/09, we must impeach.
There is something that YOU can do. It is now time for Plan B.
Impeach for Peace researched a method for impeaching the President or Vice
President using a little known and rarely used part of the Rules of the U.S.
House of Representatives (“Jefferson’s Manual”). This document actually
empowers individual states to initiate the impeachment process. All that’s required
is that the MN House and Senate pass an impeachment resolution.
So spread the word, tell your friends, your family, your coworkers, your allies.
We will hold a rally Monday, March 17th, on the steps of the Capitol Building
in St Paul. When we are finished with the rally, we will storm the Capitol Building.
We shall demand that the Minnesota House and Senate immediately pass a resolution
calling for the Impeachment of George W Bush and Dick… Continue reading

LOCAL ACTIONS NATIONWIDE
Supporters of peace and justice in every corner of the country, in communities large and small, will be organizing local protests against the war through the weekend. The unprecedented number and geographic spread of these events reflect the growing breadth of U.S. peace organizing, which is reaching into more communities than it ever has. A majority of Americans now agree with the peace movement that the Iraq War was a mistake.

This week, on March 13-16, a new generation of "Winter Soldiers"
— veterans of the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq — will descend on the
nation’s capitol to tell America in their own words what they saw during their
service in the "war on terror," the Bush administration’s signature
policy. They’ll give a ground’s eye perspective on the occupation’s toll on
the people of those countries and the costs to the military, and they’ll tell
stories of what it was really like in places like Fallujah and Ramadi — places
that are just names on a map to most of the people back home.
They’ll be following large footsteps. In the early months of 1971, a group
of Vietnam vets, organized by Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), gave
two days of testimony about the Vietnam that they had seen, up close and all-too-personally,
in the original "Winter Soldier" investigation. While largely dismissed
by the political establishment, their wrenching testimony redoubled the peace
movement’s efforts to end that war.
In his opening statement 37 years ago, William Crandell, a 26 year-old lieutenant
who served in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division — the division
that committed the infamous My Lai Massacre — told the hushed room, "The
Winter Soldier Investigation is not a mock trial. There will be no phony indictments;
there will be no verdict against Uncle Sam." He promised "straightforward
testimony — direct testimony — about acts which are war… Continue reading

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Mr. Yukihisa Fujita, a Member of the Japanese Parliament representing the Democratic Party, is to attend the Sydney Truth Now Conference. He is, in the organizing committee’s opinion, the single most important person to step forward to ask the hard questions about 9/11 and the “War on Terror” this year. We hope that his attendance may encourage Australian Parliamentarians to examine the provably false official 9/11 conspiracy theory! He will be in attendance on the 15th (Sat) and 16th (Sun) only and will make a short address on both days.
In other news:
It is with great sadness that I must finally announce that Dr Steven Jones will not be attending this year’s conference due to a family illness, but I’m glad to report he is already preparing for next year! I have taken great pleasure in talking many times with Dr Jones over the last few months and have had the great privilege of his advice! I am now coming to realize, especially during recent months, that many of us will never achieve our goals without the support of the ones that love us most, our families. Dr Jones has made a choice to care for the foundations of what has made him such a noble and courageous man! We the Sydney Committee applaud that decision!
He will still be providing a short video presentation to the conference and between locals Dr Frank Legge (who has been working closely with Dr Jones) and Dr David Leifer of the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, all Dr Jones’s material will be covered at the Sydney Conference.…Continue reading

Steve Alten, author of “The Shell Game”, delivers 9/11 Truth to Jim
Bohanon’s CBS National Radio audience
9/11 Truth (& False Flag Terror) FINALLY on CBS NATIONAL Radio
– Jim Bohannan Show !!
by William Douglas
March 6, 2008
(See Bill’s suggested action item at end of this article, to get involved.)
STUNNING National CBS Radio Interview!
Bohannan is a right wing pro-military radio voice, who’s audience has probably
NEVER been exposed to 9/11 truth issues. “The Shell Game” author,
Steve Alten, came on after an Oil Executive’s interview, at about 39:50 in the
1.5 hour show. At about 54:56 it gets REALLY interesting when a caller calls
in to discuss 9/11 as a false flag attack. Which unleashes Alten into a deep
discussion of 9/11 truth issues.
All hell brakes loose in the next few minutes, as Alten enters the realms
of 9/11 truth, explaining to the stunned Bohanan and and his virgin (9/11 truth
issue) audience that there is a mass 9/11 truth movement in America that involves
engineers, police, private investigators, and many other experts challenging
the official 9/11 story.
Alten gives Bohannan some rope at the beginning, before he yanks it to give
Bohannan’s virgin audience some powerful new issues to chew on. Alten takes
on the BIG OIL guest (and big energy’s lies) that preceded him on the show,
as well as the rational for war in Iraq, BUT spends most of his time TAKING
ON THE 9/11 COVER UP, War… Continue reading
BRUSSELS, European Parliament, 26th February 2008.
Mark Dermul (www.911belgium) reporting.
On Tuesday 26th February, Europarliamentarian Guilietto Chiesa invited his colleagues and the press to attend the screening and debate of the Italian-produced documentary named ‘ZERO, an investigation into the events of 9/11′. Object of the screening was to create political awareness of the faulty official investigation into the events by the 9/11 Commission.
Besides Mr Chiesa, the panel consisted of Japanese parliamentarian Fujita, Dr David Ray Griffin, film distributor Tim Sparke & the director and producers of the film.
After his opening statements, Mr Chiesa welcomed his guest speakers. Then he pointed out that he was unable to find any distributor in his native country of Italy and was happy to find a company in the UK, led by Mr Tim Sparke, to handle worldwide distribution of this important film. ‘It is important to realize,’ he emphasized ‘that the movie was made thanks to contribution and donations of hundreds of citizens who feel a new investigation is more than warranted.’ No less than 450 people worked on this documentary on a voluntary basis. They never received any kind of payment. Their reward is the movie itself, which they feel is an instrument to create awareness and a means to provoke a political debate in Europe.
Since the movie projector didn’t work, Mr Chiesa invited the public to ask questions until the technical problems were solved and we could start watching the movie.

Article: Syed Akbar Kamal
a significant observation, many-time UN contributor & international observer
Professor Hans Koechler said “9/11 may have been an insider’s job”
in response to a question from one of the delegates attending his lecture The
‘Global War on Terror – Contradictions of an Imperial Strategy’ last night at
the Trades Hall in Auckland.
“I am not a boy-I am 59. There are many inconsistencies and inaccuracies
in the official version of events. Those who could not handle a Cessna pulled
off 9/11,” he said.
But he was quick to note that the official version has to be challenged. Quoting
David Ray Griffin he said these events, in terms of destruction caused, these
incidents cannot have been exclusively organized by a shadowy network of Mujahedeen
from the remote places of the globe.
The causes officially given for the incidents are not a sufficient explanation
for what actually happened on that day, especially as regards the logistics
of this highly sophisticated operation and the very advanced infrastructure
required for it.
He has published more than 300 books, reports and scholarly articles in several
languages. In his book The Global War on Terror and the Metaphysical Enemy he
writes the atrocities of September 11, 2001- Instead of dealing with the contradictions
and inconsistencies in the official version of events and the numerous gaps
in terms of the factual information, a “dogma of political correctness”
has been promulgated according to which 19 Islamic-inspired Arab hijackers,
directed… Continue reading
A new report on the August 30 incident in which six nuclear-armed advanced
cruise missiles were effectively “lost” for 36 hours, during which
time they were, against all regulations, flown in launch position mounted on
a pylon on the wing of a B-52H Stratofortress, from Minot AFB in North Dakota
across the continental US to Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, has left unanswered
some critical questions about the event.
Directed by retired Air Force Gen. Larry D. Welch, the task force’s Report
on the Unauthorized Movement of Nuclear Weapons found plenty wrong with the
way the US military handles its nuclear weapons, but appears to have dealt lightly
with the specific incident that sparked the inquiry—only giving it a few
According to the report, when nuclear-capable missiles are placed onto a pylon
assembly (in the case of the B-52, these pylons can hold six missiles), procedures
call for a clear distinction to be made as to whether they are armed with nuclear
weapons or with dud warheads. In the storage bunker, pylons with dud warheads
are supposed to be encircled with orange cones like those used by highway repair
crews, and placards announcing that the warheads are duds are supposed to be
hung on all four sides. This reportedly was not done, leaving no distinction
between one pylon containing six nuclear-armed missiles, and two others that
had missiles carrying nukes.
A second failure was in record keeping. According to regulations for handling
nuclear weapons, every step… Continue reading
