In the new season of the FX drama Rescue Me, firefighter Franco Rivera espouses the belief that 9/11 was “an inside job.” According to a Sunday New York Times article, the show’s writers added this assertion because actor Daniel Sunjata is a “truther”; but the real firefighters on set–who work as script advisers–were offended by his allegations. This got the Explainer wondering: Do any firefighters believe in 9/11 conspiracy theories?
Yes. There’s no evidence that firefighters buy into 9/11 conspiracy theories at higher rates than the rest of the population. (A 2007 Zogby poll found that 26 percent of Americans believe the government “let it happen.” A 2006 Scripps-Howard poll found it was more than a third.) But some firemen do believe the government was behind 9/11 and use their status as first responders to draw attention to their statements.
The most common conspiracy theory held by firefighters is that the Twin Towers–as well as a third building, 7 World Trade Center–collapsed not because planes crashed into them but due to a “controlled demolition.” On Sept. 11, an NBC reporter quoted New York Fire Department Chief of Safety Albert Turi as saying he believed there were explosives planted in one of the towers. After the attacks, the New York Fire Department interviewed firefighters to create an oral history of 9/11. These tapes–which were not released until 2005–contain numerous references to… Continue reading

Tiny red and gray chips found in the dust from the collapse of the World Trade Center contain highly explosive materials — proof, according to a former BYU professor, that 9/11 is still a sinister mystery.
Physicist Steven E. Jones, who retired from Brigham Young University in 2006 after the school recoiled from the controversy surrounding his 9/11 theories, is one of nine authors on a paper published last week in the online, peer-reviewed Open Chemical Physics Journal. Also listed as authors are BYU physics professor Jeffrey Farrer and a professor of nanochemistry at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
For several years, Jones has theorized that pre-positioned explosives, not fires from jet fuel, caused the rapid, symmetrical collapse of the two World Trade Center buildings, plus the collapse of a third building, WTC-7.
The newest research, according to the journal authors, shows that dust from the collapsing towers contained a “nano-thermite” material that is highly explosive. Although the article draws no conclusions about the source and purpose of the explosives, Jones has previously supported a theory that the collapse of the WTC towers was part of a government conspiracy to ignore warnings about the 9/11 terrorists so that the attack would propel America to wage war against Afghanistan and Iraq.
The next step, Jones said in a phone interview on Monday, is for someone to investigate “who made the stuff and why it was there.”
A layer of dust lay over parts of Manhattan… Continue reading

Yesterday, John Feal, along with several other 9/11 First Responders went down to Washington D.C. to attend the hearing on the James Zadroga 9/11 Health And Compensation Act. From what I understand, he was singled out by the Congressmen, and applauded for his efforts. I want to say congratulations John. Just to give people an idea of how much you’ve fought for the responders, here’s a little tribute to you (that barely covers your fight). Thank you for doing the right thing. I am very proud to say that you are my friend.
The EPA is a “bunch of brainiacs and bookworms who just look at numbers but don’t look at people’s pain,” said John Feal, a construction worker who lost half a foot in an accident while working in “the pit” at Ground Zero. “The people [downtown] and in Brooklyn pay taxes and deserve to know their tax money is going to protect their health.”
John Feal – [NYMetro, 12/13/2005]
John Feal, Valenti’s friend and the founder of the Feal Good Foundation, an advocacy group for 9/11 first responders suffering from ground zero-related illnesses, called the workers’ compensation ruling encouraging, but added that more must be done to help those who have gotten sick. “Individually, that’s great,” said Feal, a demolition supervisor who lost part of his foot when it was crushed by an eight-ton beam during the recovery effort at ground zero. “What stinks is that so many… Continue reading
Pols: 9/11 workers likely to get health help

WASHINGTON — Sponsors of a bill to compensate and cover health care costs
of ailing 9/11 responders and recovery workers predicted Tuesday the House would
pass the long-pending legislation this year.
New York Democratic Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Carolyn Maloney, of Manhattan,
key sponsors of the measure, said the bill’s ultimate fate lies in the Senate,
where Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) has promised to introduce a companion bill.
"We have a really good chance of passing this," Nadler said.
Added Maloney, "We’re going to get it done. We’re going to pass this bill."
Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) said some Republicans would join Democrats in voting
for the bill. Nadler said if Congress passes a bill President Barack Obama has
said he would sign it.
Nadler and Maloney made their predictions to two busloads of retired police,
firefighters and other workers harmed by their work on the pile or nearby who
had come down for a hearing on the bill. They are among the thousands of 9/11
responders whose ailments did not become apparent until after the 911 Victims
Compensation Fund closed in 2003.
Nadler and Maloney have proposed a $11-billion fund to both cover health costs
and provide compensation. The bill also would limit the liability of the city
and the contractors and subcontractors that took part in the recovery and clean
up at Ground Zero.
Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) and Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington) also expressed
optimism and support for the bill after the hearing and in the pep talk to the

NYPD Central Booking (212) 374-3921
NEW YORK, NY — Last night, in an attempt to get Mayor Bloomberg to
answer questions about the Mayor’s alleged neglect of 9/11 First Responders,
three activists from the nation-wide “9/11 truth” group We Are Change were suddenly
arrested and held over night in Central Booking.
The Mayor had been at the Times Square Hilton for a fund-raising event. The
activists claim they were not asked to leave the premises, and were illegally
“All of the members of WeAreChange immediately complied with all instructions
given by the security detail so that they could exit the building but within
seconds arrest orders were given. According to WeAreChange camera operators,
there is video of these unlawful arrests as it appears that in some cases there
were no warnings given and some people were simply arrested just for being in
the lobby of the hotel.” Members of We Are Change also allege that police
engaged in unnecessary brutality. Three video cameras were confiscated.
Mayor Bloomberg was criticized this week for denying financial assistance and
traditional workplace protections to those suffering adverse health effects
from working at Ground Zero after 9/11/01. At a meeting of We Are Change at
the Amish Market deli near Ground Zero, yesterday, Rudkowski read aloud from
recent reports in the New York Post that criticized the Mayor. Rudkowski unveiled
a plan to have multiple camera/activist teams stationed around the Hilton that
night, to politely but firmly, ask the Mayor about First Responders.…

Blowback or Bloody Treason
Well, the day was nine-eleven in the year two thousand-one
That’s the day the “war on terror” was officially begun
When 2 planes took down 3 buildings in a scene of “Shock & Awe”
Before they hauled away the rubble, it was a crime scene for the law!
Who had the means? Who had the motive?
Who could do this crime and live?
Who had the opportunity?
Who benefits to what degree?
We need a great detective’s logic!
Forensic facts and laws of physics…
Not “leaps of faith”… Just “steps to reason”
Was it blowback or bloody treason?

For the past eight years, American culture has seen an outburst of media-driven mythmaking. Corporate mainstream media organizations, the pundits they sponsor, and politicians from both major parties have formed a new contextual chorus singing the same refrain: “On September 11th, 2001, everything changed.” From cable TV to AM radio, from the blogosphere to the town-hall meeting, Americans repeatedly hear that “this is a post-9/11 world.”
Although there is some truth to this platitude of pivotal change, independently minded citizens may also wonder whether such mass media messages have become self-fulfilling prophecies. This provides an interesting point of debate about what has or has not changed in America since 9/11.
This chapter concerns itself with the ongoing phenomena of media mythmaking and how, like many Americans surmised just after 9/11, everything has not changed. 1 Corporate mainstream media have resurrected powerful myths from America’s past to shape public perception in the present. Through the prism of 9/11, one can see how the corporate mass media are in fact doing more mythmaking than news reporting. Here, the authors will examine central historic American myths the corporate media and even much of the alternative independent media have extended into the… Continue reading

Washington, D.C. — Today, Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Peter King (R-NY), and Michael McMahon (D-NY) reintroduced bipartisan legislation to address the health crisis caused by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. H.R. 847, the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, would provide medical monitoring and treatment for those exposed to toxins released by the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. The bill would also provide compensation for economic losses due to illnesses or injuries caused by the attacks.
The previous version of the bill was set to be considered by the House last fall but because of the financial crisis and other factors, it had to be delayed. The Members of Congress are hopeful that the bill will have strong bipartisan support when it is voted on by the House in the coming months. In addition, during his presidential campaign President Barack Obama signaled his strong support for helping the heroes and heroines of 9/11.
“Thousands lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, but in the years that followed thousands more lost their health. This bill provides proper care to those who are suffering and demonstrates that America will not abandon its first responders and all those affected,” Rep. Maloney said. “I thank Speaker Pelosi and my colleagues in the New York delegation for their dedication to fulfilling America’s moral responsibility to… Continue reading

Many Sept. 11 first responders – most of them cops, firemen and construction workers who took ill after working at Ground Zero – suffered
lung problems more than five years later, according to a new study.
Experts say findings by Mount Sinai Medical
Center‘s medical monitoring program prove those exposed to toxic dust in the twin towers’ collapse suffer persistent illnesses, ranging
from asthma to reactive airway disease and shortness of breath.
The study could help experts who have long been struggling to set standards for defining a post-Sept. 11 illness and how long it takes
The monitoring program examined more than 3,160 WTC responders between 2004 and 2007, repeating exams conducted between the middle of
2002 and 2004.
Slightly more than 24% of those examined had abnormal lung function, the study found.
In the earlier examinations, about 28% of the patients had had similar results.
“We know people we are following are still sick. It’s confirming what we’ve been seeing clinically,” said
Dr. Jacqueline Moline, who treats ailing responders and
is a co-author of the study.
The growing medical fallout from the WTC attacks was the focus of the Daily News Editorial Board’s groundbreaking editorial series,
“9/11: The Forgotten Victims,” that won the Pulitzer
Prize in 2007.

In the grim, sleepless months of excavation after the September 11 attacks, forensic pathologists in New York City worked day and night to identify the dead. They didn’t have much to go on. The collapsed World Trade Center towers had burned at temperatures reaching 2,000 degrees, incinerating those trapped inside. Many of the bodies of the passengers aboard the two airplanes that struck the buildings were consumed by burning jet fuel, leaving only traces of DNA, much of it so damaged that it was impossible to read. Few bodies were found intact. Most of the human remains culled from the vast wreckage at Ground Zero were little more than tiny fragments of charred tissue and bone. The volume was overwhelming. Robert Shaler, who headed the city’s Department of Forensic Biology and was a leader of the identification effort, worried his lab would be paralyzed if it tried to identify every piece. At first, they decided they would only attempt to test samples that were “the size of a thumb or larger,” he says. But when they saw how small many of the fragments were, they changed their minds. “If we were really going to make an honest effort,” Shaler says, “we had to do everything that came along.”
Shaler and his colleagues at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner gave weekly updates to family members of the victims, reporting how many of the dead had been identified and reassuring them that the city was doing everything to identify their loved ones.…Continue reading

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — John Feal, founding president of the FealGood Foundation and a demolition expert who worked at Ground Zero following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, will bring his message to Upshur County students and residents on Friday, Oct. 24. Feal and up to seven other first responders will meet with students at Buchannon Upshur High School beginning at 8:30 a.m. The group will meet with the community later in the day.
Feal, like 70 percent of 9/11 workers, suffers from post-9/11 illnesses. One of his feet had to be amputated after being crushed by an eight-ton steel beam. He also suffers from a respiratory syndrome called World Trade Center Cough and posttraumatic stress disorder.
Feal agreed to visit West Virginia after some Buckhannon-Upshur High School students contacted him via e-mail after watching a documentary in health educator Mateal Poling’s class. The documentary, Save the Brave, chronicles the daily struggles of 9/11 Ground Zero workers in the seven years since the attacks. Greg Quibell, one of the men featured, died of his injuries the day before the film’s premiere in New York.
“You have no idea how excited they were when Feal replied — me too,” Poling said. “It is hard to imagine that these kids were only first and second graders on 9/11, but thanks to Feal’s efforts, our students are starting to have a better understanding of the profound effects of that day.”
Feal said he is “humbled and honored to meet such amazing Americans.”
“They are a reflection of the teacher who has taught them well,” Feal said.…Continue reading

Apocalypse (Greek: Apokálypsis; “lifting of the veil”) is a term applied to the disclosure to certain privileged persons of something hidden from the majority of humankind. Today the term is often used to refer to the end of the world, which may be a shortening of the phrase apokalupsis eschaton, which literally means “revelation at the end of the æon, or age.1

In a famous book by Antoine de Saint Exupery, a little prince from another planet asks the narrator to draw a sheep. After several unsatisfactory attempts, the narrator simply draws a box and tells the little prince that the sheep is in the box. The little prince then exclaims — “That is exactly the way I wanted it!” 1
Just so, the Bush Administration asked its scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for an explanation as to what happened at the World Trade Center (WTC) on 9/11. In response to this request, NIST drew up a series of fanciful stories over a period of years, each story differing from the previous one. Finally, after seven long years, NIST published its last story for WTC 7 by simply saying, in effect: “The explanation is in our computer.” 2
As expected, however, this explanation in a box leaves much to be desired for those of us who prefer to live in reality, instead of in a fictional world. On the other hand, we are learning something from NIST with this new report, and that is that when government scientists begin working for a political agenda above all else, there is no limit to the extent of deception that they will engage in. We also know that those who have produced the NIST WTC reports must now assume personal responsibility for the ongoing 9/11 Wars, and the millions of deaths that will result from those wars.…Continue reading

New Documentary Takes a Look at the 9/11 Truth Movement

Los Angeles September 10, 2008 — On the anniversary of the attacks of September
11th, British filmmaker Dean Puckett releases “The Elephant in the Room,”
a new award-winning film documenting his journey into the 9/11 Truth Movement.
The Movement can best be described as a group of citizen activists from around
the world who don’t believe the U.S. government’s explanation of what happened
on September 11th. While there are a growing number of law enforcement personnel,
pilots, architects, engineers, and scientists joining the ranks, they have been
called everything from ‘patriots’ to ‘conspiracy theorists’ – with some right
wing talk show hosts going so far as to call them ‘jihadists.’
But In the documentary, “The Elephant in the Room”, the viewer is
introduced to folks who aren’t as dangerous as some would believe. They just
happen to be average citizens asking some very simple questions.
The film features interviews with numerous 9/11 Truth activists including Former
Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (who is currently running for President)
and William Rodriguez, a janitor of 20 years at the World Trade Center, who
testified that he heard and felt explosions in his building before it was hit
by a plane. Also in the film is Richard… Continue reading

She has a B.A. from the University of Kansas, half a masters in social welfare and extensive training in direct-entry midwifery. She is a mother of six, a Kansas City native and radical Christian, and is working now to create a more self-sufficient/interdependent lifestyle. Janice is outraged about issues facing military troops and veterans– abuse/rape, ‘depleted’ uranium, ‘immunizations,’ lack of care and support received–resulting in suicides and hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans, the horrifying ‘non-lethal’ weaponry used by the US, and our current mainstream media (please, “become the media”!)and believes decentralized people’s movements are our hope for successful, nonviolent change in America, as has so often been the case around the world.
