W. David Kubiak thought the 9/11 attacks would be a “wake up call.”
“Once you could accept 9/11, you could say, ‘I’ve really got to look at the world again with new eyes,'” he said during a recent phone interview with The Wire .
Kubiak is a member of the steering committee of 911truth.org , a group formed “to investigate, unearth, and widely publicize the full truth surrounding September 11th, 2001.”
It’s been three years since the start of U.S. military operations in Iraq, and while supporters and detractors of the war continue to debate the causes of and solutions to that conflict, one fact is almost indisputable: the long, bloody journey in Iraq began on Sept. 11, 2001.
I say almost indisputable because, in the world of the 9/11 truth movement, everything from photographic evidence to offhand statements and individual words are up for debate. The term “conspiracy theory” calls to mind images of a spider’s web. That’s an accurate description for the complex and intricately constructed narratives found in any number of conspiracy theories, but the actual building of conspiracy theories, the steady accumulation of new evidence, new proof, new witnesses, is more like sedimentary rock. A pebble here, a pebble there and, after a number of years, a looming monument to suspicion and paranoia.
But, as they say, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you. We’ve got plenty of reason to be suspicious. Most recently, President George W. Bush has been stumping… Continue reading
In the past two weeks, a number of 9/11 truth-related comments have been made via various media sources, suggesting a broader awareness of the need for 9/11 truth and justice is finally reaching mainstream America–a little. Following are a few examples:
Wesley Clark, 2004 Democratic Presidential candidate, General, US Army, Ret., on ABC?s ‘This Week’ Sunday, March 5: Watch the full segment here: http://www.911truth.org/media/wesleyclark911.mov
“We’ve never finished the investigation of 9/11 and whether the administration actually misused the intelligence information it had. The evidence seems pretty clear to me. I’ve seen that for a long time.”
US Representative Dennis Kucinich
“I want to call to the attention of the House the juxtaposition of two news stories. One [...] relating to 9/11. It says ‘Federal officials were repeatedly warned in the months before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were planning aircraft hijacking suicide attacks, according to a news report that the Bush administration had been repressing.’ And this, from the front page of the Washington Post, ‘a newly leaked video recording the high level government deliberation the day before Hurricane Katrina hit shows disaster officials emphatically warning President Bush that the storm posed a catastrophic threat to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, and a grim-faced Bush personally assuring state leaders that his administration was ?fully prepared? to help. Now, do we see a pattern here? 9/11? Katrina? They knew something was going to happen and they didn’t act. They knew that if they… Continue reading

Originally put together as a project to present questions about 9/11 to his family and friends, Dustin Mugford may have unwittingly produced one of the most valuable contributions to the 9/11 video library to date. “September 11 Revisited” is a powerful documentary which “features eyewitness accounts and news footage that was shot on September 11, 2001 and was never replayed again on television…until now.” Also included are excerpts from David Ray Griffin’s Madison, Wisconsin speech which was broadcast on C-Span2, a local TV interview with BYU physics professor Steven E. Jones, and a short presentation from “9/11: Confronting the Evidence,” by MIT engineer Jeff King. This film provides stunning evidence that pre-planted explosives were used in the complete demolition of the WTC twin towers and WTC 7.
To view this film online or to order the DVD, see www.911revisited.com.
David Griffin commented, “Here’s new video, which probably provides the best case yet of this type for the controlled demolition of the WTC.”
Of related interest is David Ray Griffin’s article entitled, “Explosive Testimony: Revelations about the Twin Towers in the 9/11 Oral Histories“.
Dr. David Ray Griffin joined Mike on 2/22/06 to discuss 9/11. It was an excellent interview, and one that should be passed around.

In The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions about the Bush Administration and 9/11 (2004), I summarized dozens of facts and reports that cast doubt on the official story about 9/11. Then in The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions (2005a), I discussed the way these various facts and reports were treated by the 9/11 Commission, namely, by distorting or simply omitting them. I have also taken this big-picture approach, with its cumulative argument, in my previous essays and lectures on 9/11 (Griffin, 2005b and 2005d). This approach, which shows every aspect of the official story to be problematic, provides the most effective challenge to the official story.
But this way of presenting the evidence has one great limitation, especially when used in lectures and essays: It means that the treatment of every particular issue must be quite brief, hence superficial. People can thereby be led to suspect that a more thorough treatment of any particular issue might show the official story to be plausible after all.
In the present essay, I focus on one question: why the Twin Towers and building 7 of the World Trade Center collapsed. One advantage of this focus, besides the fact that it allows us to go into considerable detail, is that the destruction of the World Trade Center provides one of the best windows into the truth about 9/11. Another advantage of this focus is that it will allow us to look at revelations contained in the 9/11 oral histories, which were recorded… Continue reading

“[T]here was just an explosion [in the south tower]. It seemed like on television [when] they blow up these buildings. It seemed like it was going all the way around like a belt, all these explosions.”
–Firefighter Richard Banaciski
“I saw a flash flash flash [at] the lower level of the building. You know like when they demolish a building?”
–Assistant Fire Commissioner Stephen Gregory
“[I]t was [like a] professional demolition where they set the charges on certain floors and then you hear ‘Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop’.”
–Paramedic Daniel Rivera
The above quotations come from a collection of 9/11 oral histories that, although recorded by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) at the end of 2001, were publicly released only on August 12, 2005. Prior to that date, very few Americans knew the content of these accounts or even the fact that they existed.
Why have we not known about them until recently? Part of the answer is that the city of New York would not release them until it was forced to do so. Early in 2002, the New York Times requested copies under the freedom of information act, but Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration refused. So the Times, joined by several families of 9/11 victims, filed suit. After a long process, the city was finally ordered by the New York Court of Appeals to release the records (with some exceptions and redactions allowed). Included were oral histories, in interview form, provided… Continue reading
After years of extensive research, the 9/11 Truth Movement has compiled a tremendous amount of evidence that not only exposes the 9/11 Commission Report as a whitewash, but also strongly suggests that elements within the US Government were complicit in the 9/11 attacks. We are not at a time in history where we can afford to be complacent. We cannot sit back, and “let someone else take care of it.” We must act, and we must act now. This is truly a grassroots movement–no foundations, NGOs or government agencies are even allowing, let alone facilitating or funding, this critically important work … it’s about people, ALL the people, working together to break through the barriers and demand truth, and justice.
We know from the polls that millions of people now at least question the official story. Now, it is critically important that we, these millions, become as involved and active as we can immediately. It’s important to remember, no matter what the media tells us, we ARE the majority! If you’re new to this, you will be astounded at the response you may receive–even wearing a button or t-shirt, or putting a bumper sticker on your car can often draw people into conversation with you. Not all of us can lead a group or host a conference, but we can all do something!
For the people who died on 9/11; for the surviving family members; for the troops and civilians who’ve lost their lives in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan;… Continue reading
Possible Motives Of The Bush Administration – By Dr. David Ray Griffin
The 9/11 Commission understood that its mandate, as we have seen, was to provide “the fullest possible account” of the “facts and circumstances” surrounding 9/11. Included in those facts and circumstances are ones that, according to some critics of the official account of 9/11, provide evidence that the Bush administration intentionally allowed the attacks of 9/11. Some critics have even suggested that the Bush administration actively helped the attacks succeed. In light of the fact that several books have been written propounding such views, including some in English, the Commission’s staff, given its “exacting investigative work,” would surely have discovered such books. Or if not, the staff would at least have known about a front-page story on this topic in the Wall Street Journal. Readers of this story learned not only that a poll showed that 20 percent of the German population believed the “U.S. government ordered the attacks itself” but also that similar views were held in some other European countries. 1 Also, as we saw in the Introduction, polls show that significant percentages of Americans and Canadians believe that the US Government deliberately allowed the attacks to happen, with some of those believing the Bush administration actually planned the attacks. Knowing that such information is available and such views are held, the Commission, we would assume, would have felt called upon to respond to these suspicions.
An adequate response would contain at least the following elements:… Continue reading
As an expression of support for those who are attempting to expose the truth about the events of 9/11 for the benefit of the American people, I am posting the penultimate version of a chapter I have submitted to David Ray Griffin and Peter Dale Scott for publication in their volume, 9/11 AND THE AMERICAN EMPIRE (forthcoming). I stand with Steve Jones, Professor of Physics at Brigham Young, David Ray Griffin, Professor Emeritus of Theology at Claremont, and other students and scholars of 9/11, who believe that extraordinary times require extraordinary measures. Further discussion may be found at NIST’s Evasion.

This latest article from Dr. Griffin follows up on his lecture, “Truth and Politics of 9/11: Omissions and Distortions of The 9/11 Commission Report”, in which he summarized the first half of his book, The 9/11 Commission Report: Ommissions and Distortions. He completes that summary here, with his thorough review of the second half, particularly, the inability of the US military to intercept anyof the hijacked planes on 9/11.
At the end of 2004, I published The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions1. Shortly before that book appeared, I delivered a lecture in which I set out to summarize its major points. (That lecture is now available in both print and DVD form.)2 Unfortunately, The 9/11 Commission Report itself3 contains so many omissions and distortions that I was able to summarize only the first half of my book in that lecture. The present lecture summarizes the second half of the book, which deals with the Commission’s explanation as to why the US military was unable to intercept any of the hijacked airplanes.
This explanation was provided in the first chapter of The 9/11 Commission Report. Although that chapter is only 45 pages long, the issues involved are so complex that my analysis of it required six chapters. One of the complexities is the fact that the 9/11 Commission’s account of why the military could not intercept the hijacked airliners is the third version of the official account… Continue reading

Burlington– For more than four years, the public has repeatedly been urged to ignore “outrageous” conspiracies theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that set in motion the so-called “war on terrorism.” However, the official explanation that has been provided — and widely embraced — also requires the acceptance of a theory, one involving a massive intelligence failure, 19 Muslim hijackers under the sway of Osama bin Laden, and the inability of the world’s most advanced Air Force to intercept four commercial airplanes.
“A good theory explains most of the relevant facts and is not contradicted,” notes David Ray Griffin, who has been examining the available evidence for the past three years and has so far published two books on the subject. This month, Griffin summarized his findings for more than 1,000 people in four well-attended Vermont talks. The bottom line, he informed a packed house in Burlington on Oct. 12, is that “every aspect of the official story is problematic,” contradicting the available evidence and defying even the laws of physics.
You may well ask, how can this be true? And, if so, why haven’t we heard more about it? The answer to the second question is easy: Mainstream media outlets have consistently declined to examine the highly technical and exhaustively documented case Griffin has developed. That may also sound like a conspiracy theory, but the almost total news blackout of Griffin’s Vermont talks suggests that it’s an unfortunate fact.
Explaining why the… Continue reading

Dr. David Ray Griffin spoke to packed audiences this weekend, in two engagements sponsored by NY911truth.org, WBAI, and MUJCA-NET. Griffin’s presentations, focusing on the collapse of the WTC towers, are summarized here, including ten charactistics of the collapses that bring the “official story” into further question.’, ‘
Even after four years, controversy over the events of 9/11 continues to surface in the news. We recently witnessed the honest questioning of the official account by a FDNY Muslim chaplain which gave rise to a storm of intolerance and deflection of any actual and legitimate inquiry into the official account of the attacks. Even more recent was the refusal by the CIA Director, Porter Goss, to investigate people within the agency who played key roles and should have acted on important information but didn’t.
In the wake of these developments, on Oct. 15th and 16th, New Yorkers filled two venues to hear a prominent theologian and author of two books on 9/11. David Ray Griffin, gave a presentation titled “The Destruction of the Trade Towers: A Christian Theologian Speaks Out.” Dr. Griffin has continued to blaze a trail of courage, leading where media and elected officials except for a mere handful have feared to tread. His presentation went straight to the core of one of the most powerful indictments of the official story, the collapse of the towers including WTC 7.
He included excerpts from the firemen’s tapes which were recently released as a result of a prolonged court… Continue reading

Newsday Shields Long Island Readers From 9/11
By Nicholas Levis
911Truth.org New York Correspondent
Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005
Our previous story on the Intikab Habib case was premature.
We reported early Saturday morning that New York Newsday published an article about people who reject the US government’s account of the September 11 events.
The story by Newsday Staff Writer Patricia Hurtado had already appeared on the newsday.com website. But we later discovered that the editors kept it out of the newspaper itself. (That applies to the Long Island Saturday and “Early… Continue reading
Millions of people are at various levels of discovery that the official explanation of 9/11 is a lie. They are at some point in the process of realizing that some clandestine element at the highest levels of our government and military orchestrated a self-inflicted terrorist act to enflame U.S citizens into supporting an aggressive imperial agenda abroad, and a homeland security/police state regime at home as we relinquish our cherished civil liberties.
After the immediate question of Why? comes up in our minds, the next logical question is ? what can I do about it? Part of the big lie we?re in, to which so many have succumbed, is that we can?t do much of anything. There?s just no hope for us, the corruption is too vast and the powers that be are too powerful. If you fall into this description, has it ever occurred to you that this is what our new world order orchestrators want us to believe? While they are so small in number and have us believing we are powerless and without hope for reclaiming our republic, they?ve won because we?ve allowed them to control this debilitating illusion to which we?ve acquiesced.
Are you ready to dispel this illusion of powerlessness? Think about this. There are just four things you must do. Inform yourself, inform others, participate in the democratic process by informing your elected officials what you want, and participate in the group process of enabling progress through organizational actions. Now let?s add some detail.… Continue reading

Getting Agnostic About 9/11
A society of nonbelievers questions the official version

Anyone who types the words “9/11″ and “conspiracy” into an online search engine soon learns that not everybody buys the official narrative of what took place on Sept. 11, 2001. As a professor emeritus at the Claremont School of Theology, 66-year-old David Ray Griffin would seem to have more affinity for leather elbow patches than tin hats, yet after friends and colleagues prodded him into sifting through the evidence, he experienced a conversion. Now he’s spreading the bad news. Griffin compiled a summary of material arguing against the accepted story that 19 hijackers sent by Osama bin Laden took the aviation system and the U.S. military by surprise that awful day in his 2004 book
“The New Pearl Harbor” (published by Interlink, a Massachusetts-based independent publisher covering areas including travel, cooking, world fiction, current events, politics, children’s literature and other subjects). He recently followed up with the book
“The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions” (Interlink), a critique of the Kean commission document in which he suggests that a chunk of the blame for the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil lies closer to home than the caves of Afghanistan. - A 9/11 Team Report-back from the St. Louis Media Reform Conference By Les Jamieson
In a time of universal deceit by our mainstream media, the media watchdog group FreePress.net opened its annual Conference on Media Reform in St. Louis on May 13. The event sold out bringing in 2,500 alternative media workers from all 50 states. There were independent journalists, people with local cable access shows, alternative radio shows and alternative print publications. The stellar lineup of speakers included the likes of Phil Donahue, Jim Hightower, Bill Moyers, Amy Goodman, and Al Franken to name a few. A major highlight was an address given by the two FCC Commissioners, Michael Kopps and Jonathan Adelstein, who opposed chairman Michael Powell and the media giants move to broaden regional media ownership and increase their monopolies.
The workshops addressed a broad spectrum of issues and strategies for disseminating news that gets suppressed by the corporate media. The Downing St. Memo was a big topic of discussion. Robert McChesney and the leadership of FreePress did a phenomenal job organizing and managing the event throughout the weekend. Overall, there was a sense of alarm due to the political atmosphere that has engulfed the nation since the stolen election of 2000 and the media’s role in selling a war based on lies.
Several 9/11 activists attended with the goal of distributing 600 DVDs and audio CDs of the David Ray Griffin lecture at the University of Wisconsin which was broadcast on C-Span in April 30th… Continue reading
