The first of a series – now being called the “9/11 Matrix”!
“Excellent. The best of the 9/11 movies.” –David Ray Griffin, author of The New Pearl Harbor
“WOW! is my reaction to this movie. Great insight into demolitions and what really happened on 9/11/2001.” –Steven E. Jones, physics professor, Brigham Young University
A movie that might actually reach our complacent mainstream. No agenda. No finger-pointing. Just the facts and the mysteries… 90 minutes of pure demolition evidence and analysis, laced with staggering witness testimonials. Moving from “the myth” through “the analysis” and into “the players,” careful deconstruction of the official story set right alongside clean, clear science. …Continue reading

A significant stir was created by the publication in Vanity Fair of “9/11 Live: The NORAD Tapes” by Michael Bronner, the first journalist to be given access to these audiotapes–which NORAD had provided, upon demand, to the 9/11 Commission in 2004. The public impact of Bronner’s essay was increased greatly by the availability of snippets from these tapes (which could be accessed from the online version of the article) to be played on TV and radio news reports about the article.1
The stir was caused primarily by Bronner’s report of the charge by members of the 9/11 Commission–which had played excepts from these tapes during hearings in 2004–that the military had made false statements to the Commission, perhaps knowingly. This stir was increased by the publication at the same time–the first week of August 2006–of Without Precedent, a book by Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton–the chairman and vice chairman of the Commission, respectively–in which this charge is also made.2
The charge primarily involves the military’s pre-2004 claims about the responses of NEADS–the Northeast Air Defense Sector of NORAD (the North American Aerospace Defense Command)–to two flights: AA (American Airlines) 77 and UA (United Airlines) 93. (There is also, although Bronner does not deal with it, a serious discrepancy with regard to UA 175.) These claims are contradicted by the tapes, with “tapes” here meaning not only the NORAD tapes, to which Bronner refers in his essay’s subtitle, but also what he calls “the parallel recordings from the F.A.A.,”3which he used in conjunction with the NORAD tapes.…Continue reading

September 11 Press Release
September 11, 2006 (PRWEB) — The year leading up to the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks has been marked by an unprecedented upsurge in public mistrust of the official story portrayed in the 9/11 Commission Report. Respected national polling firms Zogby and Scripps Howard have shown that less than half the public believes in the conclusions or integrity of the 9/11 Commission, and 36% of Americans now think the administration was actively complicit in the attacks to advance its preplanned Mideast war agenda.
This outburst of popular skepticism has come in spite of five years of lockstep support for the official 9/11 narrative by the national press, broadcast media, and both major political parties. The mounting distrust spans the political, religious and ethnic spectrums, and has been largely driven by compelling new films, books, whistleblower reports, and escalating grassroots activism. Collectively these resources and constituencies not only offer the country hope for a fresh and truly honest 9/11 probe, but also a potent new base for radical political reform.
Activating the Newly Awakened
To mobilize the 70+ million voting age 9/11 skeptics identified by Zogby, 911truth.org has organized “Politics 911,” a national effort to identify congressional candidates who would demand an honorable new 9/11 inquiry and then help generate support for their election. This campaign has started polling candidates nationwide and is currently recruiting grassroots poll volunteers at http://www.911truthgroups.org/911Truth.…Continue reading

He felt no shiver of doubt in those first terrible hours.
He watched the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and assumed al-Qaeda had wreaked terrible vengeance. He listened to anchors and military experts and assumed the facts of Sept. 11, 2001, were as stated on the screen.
It was a year before David Ray Griffin, an eminent liberal theologian and philosopher, began his stroll down the path of disbelief. He wondered why Bush listened to a child’s story while the nation was attacked and how Osama bin Laden, America’s Public Enemy No. 1, escaped in the mountains of Tora Bora.
He wondered why 110-story towers crashed and military jets failed to intercept even one airliner. He read the 9/11 Commission report with a swell of anger. Contradictions were ignored and no military or civilian official was reprimanded, much less cashiered.
“To me, the report read as a cartoon.” White-haired and courtly, Griffin sits on a couch in a hotel lobby in Manhattan, unspooling words in that reasonable Presbyterian minister’s voice. “It’s a much greater stretch to accept the official conspiracy story than to consider the alternatives.”
“There was massive complicity in this attack by U.S. government operatives.”
If that feels like a skip off the cliff of established reality, more Americans are in free fall than you might guess. There are few more startling measures of American distrust of leaders than the widespread belief that the Bush administration had a hand in the attacks of Sept.…Continue reading
New book: 9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out
Edited by David Ray Griffin and Peter Dale Scott
Olive Branch Press (Interlink Books)
Pre-pub Review (more follow…)
“This is the most important book of our time. Distinguished national and international scientists and scholars present massive evidence that The 9/11 Commission Report is a hoax and that the 9/11 “terrorist attack” has been manipulated to serve a hegemonic agenda in the Middle East. The book’s call for a truly independent panel of experts to be empowered to bring out the true facts must be heeded or Americans will never again live under accountable government.” — Paul Craig Roberts, Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury during the Reagan administration

A Republican candidate for this area’s congressional seat said Wednesday that the U.S. government was complicit in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
by Albert McKeon
The Nashua Telegraph
24 August 2006
In an editorial board interview with The Telegraph on Wednesday, the candidate, Mary Maxwell, said the U.S. government had a role in killing nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and Pentagon, so it could make Americans hate Arabs and allow the military to bomb Muslim nations such as Iraq.
Maxwell, 59, seeks the 2nd District congressional seat. The Concord resident opposes the incumbent, Charles Bass of Peterborough, and Berlin Mayor Bob Danderson in the Republican primary Sept. 12.
Maxwell would not specify if she holds the opinion that the government stood by while terrorists hijacked four domestic airliners and used them as weapons, or if it had a larger role by sanctioning and carrying out the attacks.
But she implicated the government by saying the Sept. 11 attacks were meant “to soften us up … to make us more willing to have more stringent laws here, which are totally against the Bill of Rights … to make us particularly focus on Arabs and Muslims … and those strange persons who spend all their time creating little bombs,” giving Americans a reason “to hate them and fear them and, therefore, bomb them in Iraq for other reasons.”
She said this strategy “would be normal” for governments, citing her belief that the British government – and not the Germany military – sank the Lusitania ocean liner in 1915.…Continue reading
- Author claims U.S. orchestrated attacks
By Peter Smith
August 14, 2006
The official publishing house of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has printed a new book about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that has outraged conservatives in the church and elsewhere.
The book, “Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11,” written by David Ray Griffin, a professor emeritus at Claremont School of Theology in California, accuses the Bush administration of carrying out the attacks as a pretext for expanding America’s “demonic” imperial power.
Griffin argues, among other things, that the World Trade Center towers collapsed because of secretly planted explosives — he quotes eyewitnesses who claim that’s what it looked and sounded like — and not because airliners crashed into the buildings, causing fires.
Writers on conservative Presbyterian Web sites have been responding by saying officials of the Louisville-based denomination are out of touch with members and by calling for a boycott of Presbyterian Publishing Corp.
The corporation funds itself from book sales and has editorial independence in deciding what to publish, although its board is elected by the denomination’s legislative General Assembly.
But as word of the book spreads, some Presbyterians lament that it comes as the 2.3 million-member denomination struggles with financial troubles, declining membership and a controversial General Assembly vote to open the door to ordaining gays.
“It is sad that at this time in the life of our denomination, yet another silly and inflammatory step would be taken by the church’s bureaucracy,” said the Rev.…Continue reading
Controversial Instructor Speaks About His 9/11 Views, UW Course
Kevin Barrett Appears On ‘For The Record’
By Adam Malecek, Staff Writer
MADISON, Wis. — Controversial University of Wisconsin-Madison lecturer Kevin Barrett appeared on WISC-TV’s “For The Record,” discussing his views on the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Islamic studies and the class he is teaching this fall at UW-Madison.
Recently, 61 state legislators signed a resolution calling for UW-Madison to fire Barrett over his outspoken views that the U.S. government orchestrated the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
UW-Madison Provost Patrick Farrell reviewed Barrett’s record and decided he was qualified to teach an introductory course on Islam as scheduled in the fall. Farrell said that the university doesn’t endorse Barrett’s theories, but he said that his review found Barrett has a record of quality teaching.
On “For The Record,” Barrett said his views are always evolving but explained how his current thoughts on 9/11 developed.
This article is quite fine, but watch the absolutely splendid interview video! Barrett’s lengthy, warm and compelling tour de force should be seen and studied by anyone facing civil questioning of their 9/11 beliefs. Like Dr. Stephen Jones, Kevin brings an extremely sympathetic and human voice to what are essentially horrific conversations and gives listeners both courage and hope in the process. The video can be downloaded for podcasting and other forms of sharing, and we urge you to share it widely.
He said that immediately after the attacks, he… Continue reading
- A National Grassroots Campaign to Illuminate the 2006 Electoral Stage with 9/11 Truth.
Fine Motives, Means & Opportunities
To commemorate the great 9/11 Commission cover-up released on July 22, 2004, 9/11truth.org and MUJCA-Net are proud to announce the launch of “Politics 911″ — a focused 4-month campaign to enlighten the 2006 electoral debate with a nationwide spotlight on 9/11 truth.
As the name implies “Politics 911″ is an emergency campaign to help return democratic control, self-respect and political adulthood to the American electorate. To that end we plan to gratefully exploit:
in order to saturate pre-election events with substantive 9/11 truth questions and their implications for revolutionary reform.
Course of Action
The campaign’s initial goal is to require every candidate running for the US House or Senate in 2006 to publicly declare whether he/she will support a truly independent re-investigation* of the events surrounding 9/11 including evidence of US government foreknowledge, facilitation and/or complicity. This will be accomplished and augmented with the following steps:

About 10 years ago, I was asked to perform comedy at a conference I quickly dubbed “the Paranoids Conference.” Each presenter had a dark tale to tell of abductions, drug running, assassinations and other nefarious horrors too terrible to mention. There were whispers of government agents in our midst, so when it was my turn to perform, I said I was with the CIA. I paused while the audience gasped. “That’s the Comedians Institute of America.” It got a laugh, but no amount of laughter could counterbalance the toxicity of the atmosphere. I couldn’t wait to leave.
Fast forward to a sunny Sunday afternoon early last year when I found myself in Santa Rosa’s Church of the Rose to hear Dr. David Ray Griffin, author of a book on the 9-11 attacks called The New Pearl Harbor , as well as The 9-11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions . Griffin, a soft-spoken retired professor of theology with sandy, graying hair, proceeded to calmly and quietly dismantle the official 9-11 story. The room was filled to standing with people of all ages, many of whom attended the church. As Griffin made his case for how the official story could never have happened the way they said it did, I looked around me. Everyone was riveted, and yet I could detect no fear, no paranoia in the room.
People were hearing his message–the essentials of which are that our government likely knew… Continue reading

This essay was originally delivered as a lecture at Trinity Episcopal Church of Santa Barbara, Saturday, March 25, 2006.
In this essay, I offer a Christian critique of the American empire in light of 9/11, and of 9/11 in light of the American empire. Such a critique, of course, presupposes a discussion of 9/11 itself, especially the question of who was responsible for the attacks. The official theory is that the attacks were planned and carried out entirely by Arab Muslims. The main alternative theory is that 9/11 was a “false flag” operation, orchestrated by forces within the US government who made it appear to be the work of Arab Muslims. …
I will argue that the attacks of 9/11 were false flag attacks, orchestrated to marshal support for a so-called war on terror against Muslim and Arab states as the next stage in creating a global Pax Americana, an all-inclusive empire. I will conclude this essay with its main question: How should Christians in America respond to the realization that we are living in an empire similar to the Roman empire at the time of Jesus, which put him to death for resistance against it.

This lecture was delivered March 30, 2006, at Grand Lake Theater in Oakland for Progressive Democrats of the East Bay. Abbreviated versions of it were given in San Francisco for the Democratic World Federalists on April 2 and the Commonwealth Club on April 3.
Although I am a philosopher of religion and theologian, I have spent most of my time during the past three years on 9/11—studying it, writing about it, and speaking about it. In this lecture, I will try to make clear why I believe this issue worthy of so much time and energy. I will do this in terms of the distinction between myth and reality.
I am here using the term “myth” in two senses. In one sense, a myth is an idea that, while widely believed, is false, failing to correspond with reality.
In a deeper sense, which is employed by students of religion, a myth serves as an orienting and mobilizing story for a people, a story that reminds them who they are and why they do what they do. When a story is called as a myth in this sense—which we can call Myth with a capital M—the focus is not on the story’s relation to reality but on its function. This orienting and mobilizing function is possible, moreover, only because Myths with a capital M have religious overtones. Such a Myth is a Sacred Story.
However, although to note that a story functions as a Myth… Continue reading

March 30, 2006:
911Truth.org exclusive: The author of The New Pearl Harbor, David Ray Griffin, made a return last Saturday to his accustomed discipline, theology, addressing “9/11, American Empire, and Christian Faith” in an early-morning lecture to an audience crowding into the Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara, CA. The evidence that 9/11 was a false flag attack is very strong, Griffin argued, lamenting that most Americans reject the idea as beyond the pale ? their own government could never do such a thing! ? without examining the facts. In reality, false flag attacks are historically common, frequently used by empires to provide pretexts for war and create the enemy images necessary for rallying a fearful people behind imperial policy. The history of the United States has not been different in this regard, as Griffin makes clear. But those who attain these insights, especially with regard to 9/11, are forced to take action. Griffin therefore asks his fellow “Christians in America” how they should “respond to the realization that we are living… Continue reading
W. David Kubiak thought the 9/11 attacks would be a “wake up call.”
“Once you could accept 9/11, you could say, ‘I’ve really got to look at the world again with new eyes,’” he said during a recent phone interview with The Wire .
Kubiak is a member of the steering committee of 911truth.org , a group formed “to investigate, unearth, and widely publicize the full truth surrounding September 11th, 2001.”
It’s been three years since the start of U.S. military operations in Iraq, and while supporters and detractors of the war continue to debate the causes of and solutions to that conflict, one fact is almost indisputable: the long, bloody journey in Iraq began on Sept. 11, 2001.
I say almost indisputable because, in the world of the 9/11 truth movement, everything from photographic evidence to offhand statements and individual words are up for debate. The term “conspiracy theory” calls to mind images of a spider’s web. That’s an accurate description for the complex and intricately constructed narratives found in any number of conspiracy theories, but the actual building of conspiracy theories, the steady accumulation of new evidence, new proof, new witnesses, is more like sedimentary rock. A pebble here, a pebble there and, after a number of years, a looming monument to suspicion and paranoia.
But, as they say, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you. We’ve got plenty of reason to be suspicious. Most recently, President George W. Bush has been stumping… Continue reading
In the past two weeks, a number of 9/11 truth-related comments have been made via various media sources, suggesting a broader awareness of the need for 9/11 truth and justice is finally reaching mainstream America–a little. Following are a few examples:

“We’ve never finished the investigation of 9/11 and whether the administration actually misused the intelligence information it had. The evidence seems pretty clear to me. I’ve seen that for a long time.”
US Representative Dennis Kucinich
“I want to call to the attention of the House the juxtaposition of two news stories. One [...] relating to 9/11. It says ‘Federal officials were repeatedly warned in the months before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were planning aircraft hijacking suicide attacks, according to a news report that the Bush administration had been repressing.’ And this, from the front page of the Washington Post, ‘a newly leaked video recording the high level government deliberation the day before Hurricane Katrina hit shows disaster officials emphatically warning President Bush that the storm posed a catastrophic threat to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, and a grim-faced Bush personally assuring state leaders that his administration was ?fully prepared? to help. Now, do we see a pattern here? 9/11? Katrina? They knew something was going to happen and they didn’t act. They knew that if they… Continue reading

Originally put together as a project to present questions about 9/11 to his family and friends, Dustin Mugford may have unwittingly produced one of the most valuable contributions to the 9/11 video library to date. “September 11 Revisited” is a powerful documentary which “features eyewitness accounts and news footage that was shot on September 11, 2001 and was never replayed again on television…until now.” Also included are excerpts from David Ray Griffin’s Madison, Wisconsin speech which was broadcast on C-Span2, a local TV interview with BYU physics professor Steven E. Jones, and a short presentation from “9/11: Confronting the Evidence,” by MIT engineer Jeff King. This film provides stunning evidence that pre-planted explosives were used in the complete demolition of the WTC twin towers and WTC 7.
To view this film online or to order the DVD, see www.911revisited.com.
David Griffin commented, “Here’s new video, which probably provides the best case yet of this type for the controlled demolition of the WTC.”
Of related interest is David Ray Griffin’s article entitled, “Explosive Testimony: Revelations about the Twin Towers in the 9/11 Oral Histories“.
