Twenty-Five Ways To Suppress Truth: The Rules of Disinformation (Includes The
8 Traits of A Disinformationalist) by H. Michael Sweeney Posted July 18, 2009 Built upon Thirteen Techniques for Truth Suppression by David Martin, the following may be useful to the initiate in the world of dealing with veiled and half-truth, lies, and suppression of truth when serious crimes are studied in public forums. This, sadly, includes every day news media, one of the worst offenders with respect to being a source of disinformation. Where the crime involves a conspiracy, or a conspiracy to cover up the crime, there will invariably be a disinformation campaign launched against those seeking to uncover and expose the truth and/or the conspiracy. There are specific tactics which disinfo artists tend to apply, as revealed here. Also included with this material are seven common traits of the disinfo artist which may also prove useful in identifying players and motives. The more a particular party fits the traits and is guilty of following the rules, the more likely they are a professional disinfo artist with a vested motive. People can be bought, threatened, or blackmailed into providing disinformation, so even "good guys" can be suspect in many cases. A rational person participating as one interested in the truth will evaluate that chain of evidence and conclude either that the links are solid and conclusive, that one or more links are weak and need further development before conclusion can be arrived at, or that one or more links can be broken, usually invalidating (but not necessarily so, if parallel links already exist or can be found, or if a particular link was merely supportive, but not in itself key to) the argument. The game is played by raising issues which either strengthen or weaken (preferably to the point of breaking) these links. It is the job of a disinfo artist to interfere with these evaluations... to at least make people think the links are weak or broken when, in truth, they are not... or to propose alternative solutions leading away from the truth. Often, by simply impeding and slowing down the process through disinformation tactics, a level of victory is assured because apathy increases with time and rhetoric.

September 11th Advocates Letters![]() by Jon Gold July 19, 2009 Over the years, 9/11 Family Members Kristen Breitweiser, Lorie Van Auken, Mindy Kleinberg, Patty Casazza, and Monica Gabrielle, or the September Eleventh Advocates, have written open letters about different issues concerning the 9/11 attacks. I have compiled every letter that I have (not every letter is written by all of them), and put them into one file for you to download. I figured that along with the report written by Lorie Van Auken and Mindy Kleinberg regarding how well the 9/11 Commission answered the 9/11 Family Steering Committee's questions, as well as the new report on the nano-thermite, this could be printed and handed out to people. Please spread this around, and thank you.

Anthrax War - Dead SilenceThe provocative new film and book about the untold story of the 2001 U.S. Anthrax Attacks and the dark secrets of the shadowy world of modern day germ weapons research. When the 2001 anthrax attacks hit the USA in the days following 9/11, it was like a one-two punch against the Republic. Workers in New York’s media center who had seen the planes swoop too low over their heads en route to the Twin Tower were now terrified of their mail. In Washington, Capitol Hill was evacuated and White House staffers were chewing CIPRO tablets. It was our scariest collective nightmare come to life - the attack of deadly invisible bugs. It seemed like a self-fulfilling prophecy, the preceding years filled as they were with scores of films, best-selling books, TV shows and articles on the coming of “Bio-Terror.” Indeed, for the first time in history, national leaders and the military actually acted out high-tech “germ attack” war games, one of which had a scenario shockingly close to the actual events.

Project Expose MSMMay 27, 2009 Announcement at 123 Real Change by Sibel Edmonds We all have been tirelessly screaming
about issues related to Congressional leaders abdicating their main responsibility
of 'oversight.' We have been outraged for way too long at seeing 'no' accountability
whatsoever in many known cases of extreme wrongdoing. I, and many of you, believe
that the biggest reason for this was, and still is, the lack of true journalism
and media coverage -- which acts as the necessary pressure and catalyst for
those spineless politicians on the Hill and in the Executive branch. Or, at
least it's supposed to. So, in our book, the MSM has been the main culprit.

OBL: The Eight-Year-Long Psychological OperationMay 23, 2009 OSAMA BIN LADEN: DEAD OR ALIVE? by David Ray Griffin is a crucially important and timely examination of the whole range of evidence bearing on the question, is Osama bin Laden still alive? The importance of this question for the present comes from the fact that the United States under its new president is escalating its offensive in Afghanistan and expanding the war into Pakistan, and has claimed that the "hunt for bin Laden" is one of its principal motivations for doing so. Either explicitly or implicitly, the US government and major media outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post continue to assert that bin Laden is alive, hiding in the tribal territories on the "AfPak" border, posing an undiminished threat to US security. In his gripping new book, Griffin strikes at the root of this pretext for war by closely examining all the evidence that has come out since September 11, 2001, either indicating that bin Laden is still alive or that he is in fact dead. His conclusion is that bin Laden is certainly dead, and that in all likelihood he died in very late 2001. Griffin shows that many US experts in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency came to this very same conclusion long ago, but their views, which do not support the continuation of what President Obama, borrowing the term from Dick Cheney, calls "the long war," have received very little media attention. Were they to do so, one of the main props for the war regime would be undermined.

New Book by David Ray Griffin, 'Osama bin Laden: Dead or Alive?'May 22, 2009
The US's political discourse and foreign policy in recent years has been based on the assumption that Osama bin Laden is still alive. George W. Bush promised as president that he would get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive" and has been widely criticized for failing to do so. The US's present military escalation in Afghanistan is said to be necessary to "get Osama bin Laden." The news media regularly announce the appearance of new "messages from bin Laden." But what if Osama bin Laden died in December 2001 -- which is the last time a message to or from him was intercepted? In this book, David Ray Griffin examines the evidence for the claim -- made by everyone from former CIA agent Robert Baer to Oliver North -- that bin Laden is surely no longer with us. He analyzes the purported messages from bin Laden and finds that, as many have suspected, they do not provide evidence of bin Laden's existence after 2001. This leads naturally to the question: if Osama bin Laden did indeed die in 2001, how and why have dozens of "messages from bin Laden" appeared since then? Griffin's meticulous analysis supports above all one simple and urgent conclusion: if Osama bin Laden is dead, the US should not be using its troops and treasure to hunt him down.

History Commons Projects, Update on May 7, 2009The busiest project this week was the Civil Liberties Timeline, which has expanded
its chapter on the PROMIS application, reportedly the granddaddy of today's
government surveillance software. Claims that the software was distributed to
other countries have been disputed, but a 1992 Congressional investigation found
two Justice Department memos saying a version of the software was about to be
passed to Israel. . . . Finally, in the International Relations Timeline, former State Department Chief
of Staff Lawrence Wilkerson claims that former Vice President Dick Cheney was
manipulating the Bush administration from the outset.

Movie 'Reflecting Pool' to play at L.A. Film Festival, Interview with Director
The 2009 British Film Festival presents New Interview with Director Jarek Kupsc follows. "For anybody born and raised behind the Iron Curtain, it wasn’t difficult to realize what you were getting from the television, newspapers and the media did not exist outside your house,” Kupsc says. “People developed other ways to find what was going on.”

New Book & Movie Announcement from Michael Ruppert
ON SALE MAY 1, 2009 AT WWW.RUBICONWORKS.COM
AND A PRESIDENTIAL ENERGY POLICY: TWENTY-FIVE POINTS AUTHOR: Michael C. Ruppert Available for sale in digital format and paperback (wholesale and retail) at http://www.rubiconworks.com, http://www.amazon.com and other digital and online distribution points. We have been lied to about the stock market, AIG, Citigroup, hedge funds, mortgages, Ponzi-schemes, 401(k)s, the invasion of Iraq… even steroids in baseball. Why accept everything we have been told about energy? Our energy "information" comes from the same corporate entities that have misled us about everything else. A Presidential Energy Policy exposes the lies told about energy to protect a collapsing monetary system which now threatens all of industrial civilization. It also provides real, positive and immediate steps that can be taken at the individual, local, federal and global levels that can avert a potential extinction event for our species. A Presidential Energy Policy says what an American president cannot, that energy and money (the economy) are Siamese twins. Energy is depleting faster than it can be replaced and there is no combination of alternative energies that can or will ever sustain an edifice of human civilization built by oil. If energy gets sick, money must be treated simultaneously and vice versa -- often in ways that threaten the other. Separating the twins in a way that saves and preserves life cannot take place without killing one or both under the present monetary regime.

History Commons Projects, Update on April 16, 2009As the History Commons e-mail returns after a break, one of the busiest projects
this week was the Loss of Civil Liberties Timeline. It has more about previously-
and still-secret memos from the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel
about the Geneva Conventions, rendition, and detainees. Some of the OLC's
memos were later withdrawn, because of the "doubtful nature" of
their propositions. Another active project was the Detainee Abuse Timeline, where a contributor
has added material about Binyam Mohamed, a British resident captured in Pakistan
in 2002 and then held in Morocco, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo, before his release
early this year.
