Sydney's Sept 11 Protest Calls for End of Afghan War!

So why should we believe that "9/11 Truth" can stop the war in Afghanistan and bring the "War on Terrorism" to an end?

I will lay out below the non-conspiratorial reasons why it is vitally important that we continue to demand accountability from our governments, on why it is they went to war on our behalf in 2001. I will also argue why I am correct to strongly assert that the pursuit of 9/11 truth and a criminal investigation of those events is the only practical path to peace today. Details of an upcoming Sydney "9/11 Truth for Peace" Protest on September 11th, 2010 are at the bottom of this article.

On the 11th of September 2001 the world entered a very dark chapter of its history! We were promised a 100 years of war in this "New American Century" fighting "the terrorists" wherever the American Empire deemed they were, and at the time of their choosing. We were told that this "New Pear Harbor" event carried out on 9/11 by the CIA born Al-Qaeda was a fair and reasonable reason to carry out a preemptive strike against their supporters the Taliban, by the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan.

The vast majority of the world's population and its governments rallied behind the US determined to fight Islamic terrorism together world wide. Although some more skeptical commentators and governments were cautious with their support for this so called "War on Terrorism", they found themselves intimidated into silence. For the Bush/Cheney Administration and its powerful media supporters made it abundantly clear "that you are with us or you are with the terrorists" GWB.

On September 10, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld announced that an estimated $2.3 Trillion in Pentagon spending was missing -- and unaccounted for -- from the Pentagon. One day later, on 9/11, the story also disappeared, along with any semblances of governmental accountability and journalistic integrity.

In the wake of 9/11 America was a traumatized nation where asking difficult questions was often perceived as unpatriotic and equated with disloyalty.

Forget the fact that $2.3 Trillion equals the GDP of Italy. Forget that the military only spent an estimated $311 billion in the year 2000 - and that approximately 7.5 times that amount had disappeared. We were at war the very next day on 9/11 -- and that was all that mattered. Forget that Italy had just disappeared from the map.

That was the power of 9/11.

And in the years that followed it appeared that no lie was too big, no claim too outrageous, no initiative too insane, to trigger an appropriate response from either the media or the public. Accountability was replaced with blind nationalism and comforting platitudes.

September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows

In February of 2002 a group of family members of 9/11 victims formed September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows in order to challenge the ever inflating sentiment and hysteria that led our nation into (eventually) two wars; that led to the death of thousands of U.S. servicemen and women, countless civilian casualties, and an era of perpetual fear-mongering perpetrated by politicians that today places us squarely in the viral debate over a place of worship near Ground Zero.

Despite the fact that PT (as we often like to call ourselves) has been around from almost the beginning, it is this acrimonious debate, fueled by the mainstream media's voracious appetite for angry controversy that our voices are sought after.

When we asked for an end to the sentiments of retribution and hostility did anyone hear?

Trouble in the Rubble was written by Vic Sadot after reading the Associated Press article on the 9/11 rescue dogs by Amy Westfeldt. It was run in the Washington Post on October 20, 2006. It also ran in the News Journal of Wilmington DE and numerous other papers on October 21, 2006. It reveals the curious fact that many of the rescue dogs of 9/11 had their feet burned by "white-hot debris". The reporter did not question or explain how this came to be. While this story is consistent with other reports of pools of molten steel still being "white-hot" many weeks after the free-fall collapse and disintegration of the World Trade Center towers, it is not consistent with the official conspiracy story that the towers fell into rubble as a result of jet fuel fires after Muslims flew planes into the World Trade Center buildings. The news story inspired this topical song.

Announcing the launch of 911TruthNews.com

The editors of 9/11 Truth News are pleased to present 911truthnews.com. 9/11 Truth News is intended to be an accessible and factually oriented first reference for those curious about 9/11 truth. Our movement must serve its audience and this site was created for that purpose.

The key to effectively serving this purpose is our strategy. That starts with the site being solely related to 9/11 truth and edited by four longtime movement activists. With a good deal of thought about who we need to reach and the obstacles that stand in the way of reaching them, the editors of 911truthnews.com will be publishing only that which we believe to be the best this movement has to offer.

What does 'the best' look like? Uplifting images of people committed to educating the public. Videos of thoughtful actions and real connections with our audience. Stories of our mutual challenges and cooperative successes. Important discoveries. Revealing hit pieces. Thoughtful commentary. The best looks like positive movement.

In order for this site to reflect the best this movement has to offer, we will need help from the movement to keep us informed about what we might include. We need people to help us find relevant news. We need groups to send us their best images and videos of their actions and events. We need people to help us fill out the resources section by submitting links to related history, our strongest evidence, and information relevant movement strategy.

Over the past three years, a group of concerned Bloomington citizens has worked to raise the public consciousness about the need for 9/11 truth. These folks are sometimes called "conspiracy theorists" because they do not believe the official version of events. Once people get by their initial reactions to 9/11 questioning, however, much can be learned in the process.

To begin with, we all understand the definition of a conspiracy to be a secret plan, among two or more people, to commit a crime. Yet when faced with emotionally charged events like 9/11, many of us pretend that the definition of the word has changed.

It is certain that unless you believe these crimes were committed by one person acting alone, you believe in a 9/11 conspiracy. But people today have been trained to use the word to mean only a small subset of conspiracies enacted by powerful people, like government officials.

For those who redefine the word in this way, al-Qaida is not capable of a conspiracy, and belief in conspiracies committed by powerful people is not rational. We are therefore left with the notion that conspiracies are irrational altogether, despite the fact that our news and our laws are chock-full of conspiracy charges.

Dear Reader,

You will notice I am once again updating the website - finally! I apologize for the interruption and appreciate your patience. On July 30 my hard drive crashed, taking with it several years worth of the files, emails, addresses, software, calendar and other assorted information needed to manage this site. Hence, we've been in limbo since then. Unfortunately, my backup drive had crashed some time ago and I'd not yet replaced it so I'm having to refuse to go into panic mode thinking about everything that's lost on that drive, and am looking for a reliable data recovery company to salvage our frozen history. (Yes, recommendations welcome! janice [at] 911truth.org, please) and the money to pay for that expensive procedure. Fortunately, a true friend loaned me the money for a new laptop, so we are back!

If any of you are awaiting my response to your email sent during July, it's not forthcoming! Please resend and understand I'm really not rude - just temporarily lost! And at the risk of proselytizing, I will take a moment to strongly recommend you go RIGHT NOW and get a backup drive if you don't already have one ... Until I lost access to this stuff, I really had no idea how frustrating the simplest things can be or how much I relied on this technology to manage life!

Again, thanks to everyone for your patience and continued readership and support. This week I will try to post the most important 9/11-related news of the last few weeks, such as the few articles added below. Without the software I'm used to, it will take some time to hand-code everything for proper formatting, but it WILL happen!

A highly anticipated debate between two members of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth and two physicists is scheduled for August 21, 2010. The debate will air on the popular late night talk show Coast to Coast AM with host Ian Punnett between 10pm - 2am Pacific time.

Richard Gage, AIA, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth and an architect for over twenty years, has delivered over 150 presentations in 17 countries, including Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and throughout the United States. He will be joined by Danish scientist, Niels Harrit, Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen -- a chemist and university teacher with expertise in organic chemistry, photochemistry, fluorescence, and nanotechnology.

Harrit co-authored a peer-reviewed paper along with Dr. Steven Jones and several others, documenting their discovery of a highly energetic, nano-engineered form of thermite in World Trade Center dust. In its ordinary form, thermite, a mixture of iron oxide and aluminum powder, burns extremely hot -- around 4500° F. -- sufficiently hot to melt iron, which melts at around 2700° F.

Gage and Harrit will present evidence that the three World Trade Center skyscrapers were explosively demolished on September 11, 2001.

In what may be the first of it's kind in the nation, a group of 9/11 Truth activists organized, designed and paid for a commercial billboard in which 1,200 Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth invite the public to "Examine the Evidence."

The 24' (w) x 12' (h) billboard was installed sometime Thurs. afternoon, Aug. 5, 2010 on South Higuera, just south of Elks Lane in San Luis Obispo (near the Sutcliffe Cemetery). [ MAP: http://tinyurl.com/24jcasv ].

The activists who brought this matter to the people of San Luis Obispo County and the thousands that will drive by the billboard over the next 8 weeks realize that the evidence we are attempting to share is difficult to digest. Many simply cannot bear to question the official version of what happened on 9/11 because the implications are so difficult to face.

The rally was in response to Congress defeating a federal bill that would have provided billions of dollars in health care for those sickened by toxins released by the collapse of the World Trade Center towers Sept. 11, 2001.

New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner is plainly fired up and ready to go. In a losing battle to secure passage of a bill to fund health care and compensation for ill 9/11 rescue workers, he unleashed a tirade against what he called unprincipled GOP opponents of the measure. Watch his outburst, which concluded in him smashing down the House rostrum microphone:

The House voted down the bill, which would have provided $3.2 billion over the next 10 years to fund free health care for 9/11 rescue and recovery workers who have fallen ill from toxic smoke and debris they breathed at the World Trade Center site. The bill would have also provided $4.2 billion in compensation over that same span. The legislation proposed to pay for the benefits by closing a tax loophole on foreign subsidiaries that do business in the United States.

WASHINGTON - The House votes Wednesday or Thursday for the first time ever on a bill to care for the heroes and victims of Sept. 11, 2001 - and it's likely to fail.

That's because Democratic House leaders decided Tuesday to push ahead with the Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act under a rule that requires two-thirds approval to pass.

Many Republicans are concerned about the $10.5 billion price tag, and many don't like the way it's paid for.

News of the scheme immediately alarmed 9/11 responders.

"Whoever votes 'No' tomorrow should go to jail for manslaughter," said John Feal, who lost half his foot at Ground Zero in the cleanup.
