By Representatives and Members of the Judiciary Committee:
Robert Wexler (D-FL), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)
On November 7, the House of Representatives voted to send a resolution of impeachment of Vice President Cheney to the Judiciary Committee. As Members of the House Judiciary Committee, we strongly believe these important hearings should begin.
The issues at hand are too serious to ignore, including credible allegations of abuse of power that if proven may well constitute high crimes and misdemeanors under our constitution. The charges against Vice President Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens.
Now that former White House press secretary Scott McClellan has indicated that the Vice President and his staff purposefully gave him false information about the outing of Valerie Plame Wilson as a covert agent to report to the American people, it is even more important for Congress to investigate what may have been an intentional obstruction of justice. Congress should call Mr. McClellan to testify about what he described as being asked to “unknowingly [pass] along false information.” In addition, recent revelations have shown that the Administration including Vice President Cheney may have again manipulated and exaggerated evidence about weapons of mass destruction — this time about Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Some of us were in Congress during the impeachment hearings of President Clinton. We spent a year and a half… Continue reading
Dan Rea’s NightSide to provide 9-11 Truth a fair hearing -
Friday December 14th, 8pm on WBZ Radio 1030am, Boston MA
In the tradition of his courageous journalism career, WBZ AM 1030′s Dan Rea
will be interviewing three prominent voices from the controversial 9-11
The interview will be broadcast live on the evening of Friday, December
14th, just hours before the following morning’s scientific 9-11 symposium at
Faneuil Hall, sponsored by Boston911Truth.org.
Joining Dan Rea in studio will be the symposium’s opening speaker, Richard
Gage, AIA, founder of Architects & Engineers for 9-11 Truth
(http://www.ae911thruth.org); Dr, Robert Bowman, former Director of Advanced
Space Programs for the U.S. Air Force; and Donna Marsh O’Connor, mother of
9-11 victim Vanessa Lang Langer.
Listeners will hear three different 9-11 perspectives from this diverse
lineup of guests: the engineering/architectural perspective, the military
perspective, and the victims’ families’ perspective. This interview promises
to be a fascinating listen for WBZ’s faithful nighttime audience, as Mr. Rea
has made clear from the outset that he does not subscribe to his guests’
assertion that the official account of 9-11 is a fraud.
Despite the growing public skepticism for the official explanation of the
WTC building failures on 9-11, most mainstream news media refuse to
interview dissenters. But December 14th will be different, as WBZ’s Dan Rea
graciously provides three fellow Americans who disagree with him on 9-11 an
opportunity to present their case on his popular NightSide program.

Pat Buchanan is too patriotic to come right out and say it, but the message
of his new book, “Day of Reckoning,” is that America as we have known
her is finished. Moreover, Naomi Wolf agrees with him. These two writers of
different political persuasions arrive at America’s demise from different directions.
Buchanan explains how hubris, ideology and greed have torn America apart. A
neoconservative cabal with an alien agenda captured the Bush administration
and committed American blood, energy and money to aggression against Muslim
countries in the Middle East, while permitting America’s domestic borders to
be overrun by immigrants and exporting the jobs that had made the United States
an opportunity society. War and offshoring have taken a savage economic toll,
while open borders and diversity have created social and political division.
In her new book, “End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot,”
Wolf explains America’s demise in terms of the erosion of freedoms. She writes
that the 10 classic steps that are used to close open societies are currently
being taken in the United States. Martial law is only a declaration away.
The Bush administration responded to Sept. 11 by initiating military aggression
in the Middle East and by using fear and the “war on terror” to implement
police state measures at home with legislation, presidential directives and

and incarcerated on the basis of unsubstantiated accusation.…

A federal judge expressed frustration Tuesday that the government provided
incorrect information about evidence in the prosecution of Sept. 11 conspirator
Zacarias Moussaoui and raised the possibility of ordering a new trial in another
high-profile terrorism case.
At a post-trial hearing Tuesday for Ali al-Timimi, a Muslim cleric from Virginia
sentenced to life in prison in 2004 for soliciting treason, U.S. District Judge
Leonie Brinkema said she can no longer trust the CIA and other government agencies
on how they represent classified evidence in terror cases.
Attorneys for al-Timimi have been seeking access to documents. They also want
to depose government witnesses to determine whether the government improperly
failed to disclose the existence of certain evidence.
The prosecutors have asked her to dismiss the defense request. The government
has denied the allegations but has done so in secret pleadings to the judge
that defense lawyers are not allowed to see. Even the lead prosecutors in the
al-Timimi case have not had access to the information; they have relied on the
representations of other government lawyers.
After the hearing, the judge issued an order that said she would not rule on
the prosecutors’ motion until the government grants needed security clearances
to al-Timimi’s defense lawyer, Jonathan Turley, and the lead trial prosecutor
so they can review the secret pleadings.
Brinkema said she no longer feels confident relying on the government briefs,
particularly since prosecutors admitted last week that similar representations
made in… Continue reading
On your mark, get set, don’t go! The starting gun on the “holiday shopping season” goes off at midnight Thanksgiving night. To perk up slagging sales, major retailers are opening their doors early to make the “biggest shopping day of the year” the longest, as well. As the Seattle PI reports, about 133 million people will shop this weekend in the U.S. The retailer’s strategy is to mark down the merchandise as much as possible to move their inventory.
Adbusters and others have anointed Friday as an unofficial holiday for people who are trying to fend off the allure of more and more stuff (and, possibly, bring more “meaning” to the holiday season.) Buy Nothing Day has been “celebrated” since 1992. According to Wikipedia, Adbusters states:
It isn’t just about changing your habits for one day” but “about starting a lasting lifestyle commitment to consuming less and producing less waste.
Things to do on Friday instead of shopping ’til you drop:
- Nurse your Thanksgiving hangover by napping and thinking about the things you said you were thankful for yesterday: did your list include a cheap plastic toys and designer shoes? As you design your holiday season, reflect on your “thanks” list. Maybe instead of presents, focus on embellishing the things that add value to your life. Did your list include “my family,” “my home,” “my health”? Make your holiday season about those things, and leave the stressful shopping behind. You’ll have a great jumpstart on next year’s… Continue reading

These explosive and revealing comments about 9/11 have been completely ignored by the Mainstream Media. While talking about the 9/11 commission, 9/11 family member Patty Casazza reveals that FBI translator and whistleblower Sibel Edmonds had incriminating insider information about the 9/11 attacks:
The Government knew… other than the exact moment… they knew the date, and the method of which the attacks were supposed to come … And none of this made it to mainstream media. None of it made it into the Commission.
And yet, again, all of your Representatives, on the day that the Commission book came out, were on their pulpits saying, “What a fabulous job this Commission has done. A real service to this nation.” And it was anything but a service. It was a complete fabrication.
The lack of Mainstream news coverage of these views is very apparent. Fox News in a secret memo implicitly admits that there is a problem with the ‘official story’ of 9/11:
“The so-called 9/11 Commission has already been meeting. In fact, this is its eighth session. The fact that former Clinton and both former and current Bush administration officials are testifying gives it a certain tension, but this is not ‘ what did he know and when did he know it’ stuff. Don’t turn this into Watergate.“
In fact, a similar… Continue reading

He describes the painting as an expression of America’s unwillingness to question

Nathan Janes’ painting could create some controversy, but all he wants to do

Janes, a Port Clinton native, recently completed a painting of a dog wearing
a blindfold with “911″ and “truth” above and below the dog.
Janes said the painting represents America’s inability to question the events
surrounding the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
“It’s kind of hard for people to question whether the government lied
or had a part in it,” he said. “I’m not say anything’s a hoax. I’m
saying there’s information that’s not been released or told.”
Janes started researching conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 last summer
and said he felt he was just getting more questions and not enough answers.

Janes said. “People might find themselves asking the same questions I’m

It has been brought to our attention that Google.com offers a feature whereby entering a phone number into the search bar brings up the name, address, and even a map to the location associated with that phone number. We found this to be the case also with Windows MSN’s live.com search engine, and may be the case with others, as well. It does not work with every phone number, but we verified that many do reveal this personal data. This information is significantly more thorough than what is available via reverse phone number lookup services. Many people have their phone number printed on their checks or other documents and the safety issues for anyone, particularly for children, are obvious and alarming. It may be wise to pay prompt attention to this safety and privacy issue and take action to protect yourself and your family. Google offers a “remove your name from this list” option, which promises to do just that in 48 hours.
We encourage you to share this information with friends and family, as a practical safety matter. Thank you.

This contentious issue will be broached next week on Wednesday, November 7 (at 8pm) on the basement level of Lolita Bar (266 Broome St. at Allen St., one block south and three west of the Delancey St. subway stop on Manhattan’s Lower East Side) — with Michel Evanchik moderating and Todd Seavey hosting.
In just-barely-related news, constitutionalists and conspiracists alike may enjoy tonight’s (Oct. 30) Tonight show appearance by my favorite presidential candidate, Ron Paul, as noted in yesterday’s entry, not that some Truther support for Paul makes him a Truther-endorser (or militia man, or Bircher, etc.) — but he probably wouldn’t put such chicanery past the government, either. In the interests of hostal neutrality, I will say no more until after next week’s debate, though.
How did I come to know two people with such opposing takes on this issue? Well, Karol co-hosts the monthly Manhattan Project non-leftist media gatherings with me and Mark Cunningham, while Sander (who, despite his being a Marxist and onetime pursuer of the NY Green Party nomination for Senate, I met through libertarian novelist Katherine Taylor of all people) is technically responsible for me hosting all of these Debates at… Continue reading
Dear activists, colleagues and friends,
We are beyond thrilled to announce that as a result of your efforts on The REAL Rudy: Radios, Councilman Eric Gioia has committed to “do everything in my power to get answers, to get the truth. There needs to be accountability.”
Never say never! We worked, we investigated, we fought, and now we’re well on our way to an investigation. Councilman Gioia was so taken with the video and all of our signatures (20,000!) that he sat down and explained to us what is going to happen next:
Watch the video: http://therealrudy.org/radios?utm_source=rgemail
With the councilman’s support, we can hold Giuliani accountable for his failure to equip firefighters with radios that could have saved lives on 9/11, and get answers to these questions:
Why was nothing done to improve FDNY radio performance for seven years after a clear need was demonstrated in the 1993 World Trade Center attack?
When new radios were finally ordered, why did the city award a contract to Motorola without a competitive bidding process?
Once Motorola was given the contract, why did its cost jump from $1.4 million to $14 million?
Why were these new radios never field tested?
No, this is not the answer to the distortions of Rudy Giuliani’s campaign and administration. This is just the beginning.
But it is a helluva start!

During today’s [11/5/07] White House press briefing, spokeswoman Dana Perino condemned Gen. Pervez Musharraf’s declaration of “emergency rule” in Pakistan. She said that the administration is “deeply disappointed” by the measure, which suspends the country’s constitution, and believes it is never “reasonable” to “restrict constitutional freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism”:
Q: Is it ever reasonable to restrict constitutional freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism?
MS. PERINO: In our opinion, no.
Watch it at http://thinkprogress.org/2007/11/05/musharraf-freedom/.
The Bush administration never suspended the U.S. Constitution; instead, it interpreted the document so broadly as to provide all the powers they desired. A look at some of the ways the White House has overstepped its constitutional powers in the name of national security:
First Amendment: In September, a federal judge ruled that the FBI’s use of secret “national security letters” to obtain citizens’ personal data from private companies for counterterrorism investigations “violate[d] the First Amendment and constitutional provisions on the separation of powers.”
First Amendment, Fourth Amendment: In Aug. 2006, a federal district court in Detroit ruled that the Bush administration’ss NSA warrantless wiretapping program was unconstitutional, violating the “separation of powers doctrine, the Administrative Procedures Act, the First and Fourth amendments to the United States Constitution, the FISA and Title III.”

Three Muslims were charged with masterminding the bombings of four crowded
commuter trains at rush hour, which killed 191 people and wounded more than

Two of those alleged ringleaders and two others also facing murder charges

Rather than sentences of nearly 38,000 years as sought by prosecutors, some

DONALD RUMSFELD CHARGED WITH TORTURE DURING TRIP TO FRANCE
Complaint Filed Against Former Defense Secretary for Torture, Abuse at Guantánamo and Abu Ghraib
October 26, 2007, Paris, France — Today, the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) along with the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), and the French League for Human Rights filed a complaint with the Paris Prosecutor before the “Court of First Instance” (Tribunal de Grande Instance) charging former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld with ordering and authorizing torture. Rumsfeld was in Paris for a talk sponsored by Foreign Policy magazine, and left through a door connecting to the U.S. embassy to avoid journalists and human rights attorneys outside.
“The filing of this French case against Rumsfeld demonstrates that we will not rest until those U.S. officials involved in the torture program are brought to justice. Rumsfeld must understand that he has no place to hide. A torturer is an enemy of all humankind,” said CCR President Michael Ratner.
France is under the obligation to investigate and prosecute Rumsfeld’s accountability for crimes of torture in Guantánamo and Iraq. France has no choice but to open an investigation if an alleged torturer is on its territory. I hope that the fight against impunity will not be sacrificed in the name of politics. We call on France to refuse to be a safe haven for criminals.” said FIDH President Souhayr Belhassen.
We want to combat impunity and therefore demand a judicial investigation and a criminal prosecution wherever there is jurisdiction over the torture incidents,” said ECCHR General Secretary Wolfgang Kaleck.…Continue reading

World Can’t Wait- Drive Out the Bush Regime reports police once again used excessive force when they arrested one minor and two college students who were en route to a large anti-war rally. As stated in the World Can’t Wait’s Call, “If we speak the truth they will try to silence us. If we act they will try to stop us.” This statement is especially relevant in this incident.
Saturday about 75-100 students from various organizations were with the young men while marching from the newly opened military recruitment center at University Center to a rally at Union Park when the arrests took place. A student, Thomas Walker, later reported that the initial 10 accompanying officers were “hostile from the beginning, rude and cursing at us” on the way to the rally. The violence happened when the marchers arrived at Canal and Randolph. Eyewitnesses say the police used their bikes to shove protesters and pushed marchers. The minor and one of the arrested college students, Mark H. were victims of a “take-down” characterized as excessive by witnesses who said Mark bled from his injuries as he was dragged away by police officers. The other college student arrested, Sergei T., did not have visible injuries. Mark was released at 1:00 AM Sunday and taken immediately to the hospital. The minor will be brought before juvenile court on Monday to determine if he should be taken away from his parents and immediately put into juvenile detention.

US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) has announced the conduct of major war games

These war games are being conducted at an important historical crossroads,

VS-08 is predicated on the doctrine of preemptive warfare, with a vie to protecting

coincided with a declaration by the Bush administration in early September that
military action against Iran is being contemplated at the highest echelons of

McKinney: 9/11 ‘Talking Points’ Urged Congress Say, ‘They Hate our Freedom’
Friday, October 05, 2007
In a recent speech in Arizona, former congresswoman Cynthia McKinney blasted
the administration’s handling of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and claimed
that talking points urged representatives to tell constituents that the terrorists
“hate our freedom.”
The charge is noteworthy, even shocking, because it shows that the administration
had apparently resolved to use the tragedy to shape national consciousness in
a particular way. The administration’s response, if McKinney is to be believed,
smacks of political opportunism – even propaganda.
McKinney made the charge during a speech on at the First Christian Church in
Tuscon, AZ. Her speech and the comment itself was reported by a student newspaper,
The Wildcat Online. The article quoted her as saying: “How in
the world can we sustain the injuries from Sept. 11th and not even ask any questions
about what happened that day?”

Editor’s Comment: Readers will recall McKinney’s amazing display of courage and integrity while clearly, directly questioning Rumsfeld in March ’05, about DynCorp’s slave trade, the Pentagon’s missing trillions, and the 9/11 wargames:

The FBI has quietly built a sophisticated, point-and-click surveillance system
that performs instant wiretaps on almost any communications device, according
to nearly a thousand pages of restricted documents newly released under the
Freedom of Information Act.
The surveillance system, called DCSNet, for Digital Collection System Network,
connects FBI wiretapping rooms to switches controlled by traditional land-line
operators, internet-telephony providers and cellular companies. It is far more
intricately woven into the nation’s telecom infrastructure than observers suspected.
It’s a “comprehensive wiretap system that intercepts wire-line phones,
cellular phones, SMS and push-to-talk systems,” says Steven Bellovin, a
Columbia University computer science professor and longtime surveillance expert.
Snapshots of the FBI Spy Docs
DCSNet is a suite of software that collects, sifts and stores phone numbers,
phone calls and text messages. The system directly connects FBI wiretapping
outposts around the country to a far-reaching private communications network.
Many of the details of the system and its full capabilities were redacted from
the documents acquired by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, but they show
that DCSNet includes at least three collection components, each running on Windows-based
The $10 million DCS-3000 client, also known as Red Hook, handles pen-registers
