Dear 9/11 Truth Advocates,
As 2009 arrives, 911Truth.org wishes you all the best, and extends our gratitude to each of you for your persistent courage and dedication to hard truths!
For nearly five years, 911Truth.org has served as your portal to reliable information about 9/11, its precedents and consequences, as an umbrella for hundreds of local truth activism groups, as a catalyst for national campaigns and new 9/11 truth special interest groups, and so much more. We are at a very critical juncture right now, as monthly donation pledges total about $500. We need to raise $15,000 for this first quarter of 2009 if we are to continue to provide these valuable services.
As we enter a new year, with a new administration coming into office, we are excited to continue this important work with some new opportunities–though admittedly, significant challenges remaining–in front of us!
Having witnessed the international reaction to the election of Barack Obama, we believe that a new dawn in political responsibility may be approaching. We therefore encourage the 9/11 community to take an optimistic, and persistent, educational approach to the new administration, one which will speak truth to power in a new relationship based on positive expectations of honesty and good faith. The approach we envisage continues to be based on the expectation that individuals within the United States Government and its citizens, once educated about 9/11, will recognize that only strength and respect would flow from… Continue reading

This just in from Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, IAVA:
This week reports surfaced that KBR, a military-contracting firm, may have
knowingly exposed troops to dangerous toxins in Iraq. Today, I am asking you
to take a stand with IAVA, and call for accountability.
In April of 2003, members of the Indiana National Guard were protecting KBR
employees at a power plant in Southern Iraq. After their service, some of these
troops exhibited signs of cancer, tumors and rashes, and new reports indicate
that these injuries may be the result of exposure to toxins present at the site.
Incredibly, CBS News has uncovered evidence that KBR may have known
about the risks months before it took any action to inform those soldiers.
At least one Indiana Guardsman has died from lung cancer already. Others are
sick. In fact, records from the CBS investigation show that 60 percent of the
soldiers exposed "exhibit symptoms of exposure."
We need your support to ensure that KBR works hand-in-hand with both Congress
and the military to find out exactly what needs to be done to protect our veterans.
We’ll be working in Washington, D.C. to ensure that Congress addresses this
issue head-on with a full investigation, and outreach to the veterans who may
have been affected by this and similar cases.
In advance of the hearing, IAVA released ten crucial questions that Congress needs to ask the nominee. And I’m going to be live-blogging about the hearing straight from DC, watching to see what issues are addressed.
If he’s confirmed, General Shinseki will be facing an urgent and critical fight to improve support for our nation’s veterans. As a wounded and decorated combat veteran, and the first Asian-American in US history to be a four-star general, he has the potential to lead the second-largest bureaucracy in the US government into the 21st century.
However, the challenges facing today’s veterans are radically different than the issues faced by previous generations. General Shinseki must demonstrate knowledge on issues ranging from implementation of the new GI Bill to providing the best health care possible for our newest generation of heroes.
All of this makes Wednesday morning’s hearing one of the most important events for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in a long time. As an Iraq veteran who was wounded in combat, I’m looking forward to watching the process unfold.
Thank you for standing with us.

The inauguration is almost upon us, and I am writing you with two important related matters. The first is a call to action to phone your senators with questions for Eric Holder’s hearing on his nomination to be the next Attorney General. The second is to send you a link to a report we released yesterday on the simple steps to closing Guantánamo.
While President-Elect Obama has said he will close the base,he has yet to say how or when, which are the most important questions. We are all excited at the chance for a new beginning: it is up to us to make it one we can be proud of. Please call your senators, and please download and distribute our report so we can end this terrible chapter in our history.
I. This Thursday, January 15th, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing to decide whether nominee Eric Holder should be confirmed as the new Attorney General. While Holder’s public statements suggest he would be a marked improvement over Alberto Gonzales and Michael Mukasey, it is critical that the American public be certain that our nation’s chief lawyer has an unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law.
Senate Judiciary Committee members have a serious responsibility to put an end to subverting law to politics – and to ensure that President-Elect Obama appoints an Attorney General who will help him restore, protect and expand our human rights. And it is… Continue reading

Action Alert re. Kucinich’s Bill, HR66
January 12th, 2009
Last Friday, the House of Representatives voted 390 yes, 5 no, and 22 present to pass H.Res.34, “recognizing Israel’s right to defend itself” and “reaffirming the United States strong support for Israel.” To see if your Representative cosponsored this resolution, click here.To see how your Representative voted, click here. Last Thursday, the Senate voted on a similarly worded resolution, S.Res.10, which passed by unanimous consent. To see if your Senator cosponsored the resolution, click here.
The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation opposed these resolutions because they failed to call for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access to the occupied Gaza Strip as required under the terms of UN Security Council Resolution 1860. The resolutions also blamed the victims–the Palestinians–for the civilian casualties and humanitarian catastrophe Israel is inflicting upon them and absolved Israel of any responsibility for its actions.
Thankfully these resolutions will not be the final words of Congress on the issue. Yesterday, Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduced a resolution calling for “an immediate and unconditional ceasefire” and “unrestricted humanitarian access” to the occupied Gaza Strip. The US Campaign is supporting this resolution, which can be downloaded by clicking here.

Introductory text at Religious Leaders for 911 Truth:
The religions of the world share universal values of love, truth, and justice,
and believe in helping those who are oppressed or otherwise in need. Many religious
persons try to engage in activities to make the world a better place, and they
trust in a Higher Power to assist them.
When faced with actions that conflict with the universal moral principle that
we should not do to others what we would not want done to ourselves or our loved
ones, members of faith communities have a responsibility to voice their opposition
to those actions. Many religious leaders throughout history have publicly challenged
morally unacceptable practices—recently, for example, in the civil rights
and anti-apartheid movements.
A significant moral challenge has emerged due to glaring discrepancies between
the official version of the events of September 11, 2001, and the results of
extensive independent research by individuals with relevant scientific or professional
“Independent” here means independent from the U.S. administration
that was in power at the time of the 9/11 attacks. The official reports about
9/11 were not independent in this sense. The 9/11 Commission was run by its
executive director, Philip Zelikow, who was closely associated with the Bush
administration. The official reports on the World Trade Center were produced
by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, which, as an agency of
the U.S. Commerce Department, was run by people employed by the Bush administration.
The independent research, which has led… Continue reading

Come and hear Richard Gage, AIA, give his outstanding multimedia presentation on the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. You’ll see an abundance of
photographs and video evidence showing that the way in which the towers collapsed is inconsistent with a plane-impact-and-fire scenario and that the collapses in fact exhibited all the characteristics of destruction by explosives. You’ll learn about molten metal in the rubble pile, molten metal flowing from the windows before collapse, the unmistakable chemical signature of a demolition incendiary “thermite” left behind in the debris, and more. Bring your skeptical friends who want solid, documented evidence and disciplined thinking. We need our best critical thinkers to examine this evidence. The election of the first black president is effectively re-branding preemptive
and illegal wars of aggression to make us feel good about them, enlisting us

people, but to control Afghanistan with the goal of permanent domination of

Support a Truth & Reconciliation Commission

I have proposed the idea of a truth and reconciliation commission to investigate
abuses during the Bush-Cheney Administration — so they never happen again.
These abuses may include the use of torture, warrantless wiretapping, extraordinary
rendition, and executive override of laws.
Please sign this online petition, urging Congress to consider establishing
a truth and reconciliation commission to investigate the Bush-Cheney Administration’s
Watch my February 8 remarks at Georgetown University:
Full Petition Text:
I hereby join Senator Patrick Leahy’s call for the establishment of a truth
and reconciliation commission, to investigate the Bush-Cheney Administration’s
constitutional abuses so we make sure they never happen again. These abuses
may include the use of torture, warrantless wiretapping, extraordinary rendition,
and executive override of laws.
A truth and reconciliation commission should be tasked with seeking answers
so that we can develop a shared understanding of the failures of the recent
past. Rather than vengeance, we need a fair-minded pursuit of what actually
happened. The best way to move forward is getting to the truth and finding out
what happened — so we can make sure it does not happen again.

A Citizen’s Petition to Attorney General-Designate Eric Holder asking him to appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate and prosecute any and all government officials who have participated in War Crimes.
You can read and/or sign the Petition for a Special Prosecutor to Investigate Bush War Crimes here, or by clicking on the Badge here.
We urge Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a non-partisan independent Special Counsel to immediately commence a prosecutorial investigation into the most serious alleged crimes of former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Richard B. Cheney, the attorneys formerly employed by the Department of Justice whose memos sought to justify torture, and other former top officials of the Bush Administration.
UPDATE 2/27/09 6pm: In response to the many email questions we’ve received asking why we have not endorsed this call for a Special Prosecutor: On 2/24, when this statement/petition was posted at AfterDowningStreet.org, 911truth.org immediately signed on as an endorsing organization via the signup at that site. As of now, our name does not appear on that list. Nonetheless, we did submit endorsement. We are not, yet, encouraging 9/11 truth advocates to politely contact David Swanson asking him why he would permanently post a video statement from Willie Rodriguez on the front page of his site, yet continue to ignore/ban the burgeoning 9/11 truth movement from being heard as the powerful voice we are, in calling for truth and accountability. We believe that Mr. Swanson is acting in good faith, all in all, and will post our endorsement with the others on the list shortly.
Our laws, and treaties that under Article VI of our Constitution are the supreme law of the land, require the prosecution of crimes that strong evidence suggests these individuals have committed. Both the former president and the former vice president have confessed to authorizing a torture procedure that is illegal under our law and treaty obligations.…Continue reading
Liberal Leaders Betray Antiwar Cause To Serve Dems and Obama — Again
by John Walsh
February 25th, 2009
In the Wall Street Journal of January 24, the loathsome McCarthyite neocon David Horowitz gazed approvingly on the inauguration of Barack Obama. To Horowitz it meant the removal of an obstacle to war. Thus he wrote:
Consider: When President Obama commits this nation to war against the Islamic terrorists, as he already has in Afghanistan, he will take millions of previously alienated and disaffected Americans with him, and they will support our troops in a way that most of his party has refused to support them until now. When another liberal, Bill Clinton went to war from the air, there was no anti-war movement in the streets or in his party’s ranks to oppose him. That is an encouraging fact for us . . .
Horowitz is now locked in fast embrace with Katrina Vanden Heuvel, editor in chief of The Nation and Leslie Cagan and her cohorts at United For Peace and Justice (UFPJ). Vanden Heuvel’s most recent piece in The Nation runs under a title in the form of a query, “Obama’s War?” Whose war does she think it is anyway? Even the mainstream media calls it Obama’s war — sans question mark. Her piece ran shortly after Obama ordered 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan and almost a month after both Afghan and Pakistani civilians were first bombed at Obama’s orders. She concludes her piece, after citing the deployment of additional troops, “Up to this point the Afghan war belonged to George W.…Continue reading
