Building a NYC Mega-Network of Activist Communities

Sunday, July 22nd @ 6 PM

St. Marks Church, 2nd Ave. & 10th Street, Manhattan

New York City Activist Groups will meet to address the root cause of activist concerns using a collaborative approach.

We are in a time of great opportunity and grave danger. The opportunity includes regaining lost democratic liberties and extends to the spiritual awakening of our planet. Like any journey to such high goals, we must start from where we are at.

Presently the activist movement in the United States comprises of thousands of groups scattered throughout the country. There are so many issues to consider, there are so many fronts being focused on; for some it appears as a government strategy to divide the populace along a wide variety of agendas. Here is a partial list of issues groups are facing.

The Iraq War
Impeachment
Immigration
Affordable housing
Media control and propaganda
9/11 Truth
Environmental degradation
Affordable housing
Taxes and government spending
Health care
Election fraud
Federal Reserve fraud
Retirement benefits
Alternative energy
Big business/government collusion
Civil liberties violations

Is there a unifying approach that would actually go to the root cause of each of these areas of concern and unite us in a collaborative effort? The answer from coalitions is Yes! They also realize that only through a unified approach can we access the power of community, the only force ordained by our constitution to challenge the big business / government / media collusion now in power.

Join us in an engaging evening to learn about community development, the variety of NY activist groups, expanding your network, and events that we can co-create, and co-sponsor as a coalition. This meeting will be interactive and fun as we exercise our collaborative spirit. The event will be facilitated by Paul Deslauriers, an organizational development consultant for 23 years and New England activist. He has authored the highly acclaimed Bearer of Light, a spiritual approach to community development, www.BearerOfLight.com. Paul also just attended the Social Forum in Atlanta and facilitated a portion of the July 4th Activist Convergence in Philadelphia initiated by Cindy Sheehan, with 24 activist groups participating; so he has a lot of current insight to work from.

Please RSVP to jazzyday@earthlink.net and PAULNRG@aol.com ASAP.
