Faith Leaders to Hold Multi-Faith Memorial Service on 9/11
Posted September 4th, 2011
Religious Leaders for 9/11 Truth Brings Together
Leaders of Many Faiths and Belief Systems to Honor Those Who Perished
NEW YORK, NY -- A variety of religious and spiritual leaders will hold a memorial service to honor those who died as a result of the 9/11 attacks, and provide spiritual succor and encouragement to all those who still grieve over the events of that tragic day. The service will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village at 10:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a fellowship time, including refreshments.
Hosted by Father Frank Morales, an Episcopal priest, and Rev. Ian Alterman, an evangelical minister, the service will bring together faith leaders and spiritual leaders from a variety of traditions, and will include prayers, intercessions, music, songs, sermons, and respectful memorials. Also participating will be survivors and surviving family members.
Religious Leaders for 9/11 Truth believes -- as do thousands of scientists and professionals including architects, engineers, pilots, firefighters, first responders, and 9/11 family members -- that there are still many unanswered questions with regard to the attacks, and facts which contradict many aspects of the official story, and that faith leaders do a disservice to those who died if they do not do as almost every faith traditions instructs, and seek the truth.
As faith leaders, the members of Religious Leaders for 9/11 Truth consider it a moral duty to seek this truth, no matter the challenges, and to help provide closure for those who feel that it has not been provided.
However, the organization is setting aside politics for this event, which will be both solemn and joyous in turn, honoring the fallen and celebrating the living in word, song and prayer.
