Thanks to your generous support and ongoing efforts to keep 9/11 front and center, NYC CAN eclipsed the milestone of 35,000 signatures on Sunday, April 26, 2009.

We continue to charge ahead collecting hundreds of signatures everyday, but we can only continue with YOUR support.

NYC CAN is growing. Our petitioners are becoming ever more skilled, now collecting a rate of one signature for every dollar we spend. We have so far raised a total of $7,800, and with the exception of modestly paying one representative to do full-time outreach and fundraising, every dollar spent so far has gone into paying petitioners to be out on the streets. Within two months, we will have the required number of signatures to not only submit the petition but to submit it with full certainty the referendum will be on the ballot come November 3, 2009.

We urge you now to dig deep so we can continue this effort. If every person who reads this letter acts now to become a member of NYC CAN by donating just $25, we will quickly surpass the bare minimum of $60,000 required to fund the rest of our petitioning effort.

NYC CAN's newest communication material is the NYC CAN Postcard. Our petitioners and volunteers will begin handing these out to thousands of New Yorkers next week. Get involved in this historic campaign by printing out this postcard in the hundreds and handing it out in your hometown. If you are hosting an event, be sure to notify us and we will have the required number of postcards printed and mailed to your door. Together we can make NYC CAN a national and international phenomenon so that when November 3, 2009 rolls around, all eyes will be on the voters of New York City to stand up and vote for answers.
