Join Sonali Kolhatkar, host of KPFK's Uprising!, and Ian Masters, host of KPFK's hugely popular Sunday talk-shows, Background Briefing and Live from the Left Coast as they anchor the first Presidential Debate between Democratic Party nominee Senator Barack Obama and Republican Party nominee Senator John McCain, which is taking place in Oxford, Mississippi on Friday evening. Guests for the broadcast include: John Brady Kiesling, formerly of the U S Diplomat, who resigned in protest
over the Iraq War; George Farah, Executive Director of Open Debate; Laura Carlsen,

If the event in Oxford Miss is cancelled, then there will not be a national broadcast; however, if only John McCain does not appear and Barak Obama precedes with a "Town Hall" format, KPFK will still proceed with the national broadcast.
