America is devolving into a third-world nation. And if we do not immediately halt our elite’s rapacious looting of the public treasury we will be left with trillions in debts, which can never be repaid, and widespread human misery which we will be helpless to ameliorate. Our anemic democracy will be replaced with a robust national police state. The elite will withdraw into heavily guarded gated communities where they will have access to security, goods and services that cannot be afforded by the rest of us. Tens of millions of people, brutally controlled, will live in perpetual poverty. This is the inevitable result of unchecked corporate capitalism. The stimulus and bailout plans are not about saving us. They are about saving them. We can resist, which means street protests, disruptions of the system and demonstrations, or become serfs.
We have been in a steady economic decline for decades. The Canadian political philosopher John Ralston Saul detailed this decline in his 1992 book “Voltaire’s Bastards: The Dictatorship of Reason in the West.” David Cay Johnston exposed the mirage and rot of American capitalism in “Free Lunch: How the Wealthiest Americans Enrich Themselves at Government Expense (and Stick You With the Bill),” and David C. Korten, in “When Corporations Rule the World” and “Agenda for a New Economy,” laid out corporate malfeasance and abuse. But our universities and mass media, entranced by power and naively believing that global capitalism was an… Continue reading
DANIEL SUNJATA, once a football hero at Mount Carmel,
is sure to draw fire as he promotes 9/11 conspiracy theories
April 4, 2009
by Mary Houlihan
Daniel Sunjata’s character starts talking 9/11 theories this season on “Rescue
Me.” (via YouTube)
Daniel Sunjata stars in the acclaimed cable series “Rescue
Me,” where he plays Puerto Rican firefighter and ladies’ man Franco Rivera.
A stranger looking at Daniel Sunjata’s sports-filled high school years would find it difficult to guess his chosen career. Could it be football player, business executive, sports agent? Wrong. The answer is actor.
How in the world did that happen?
Sunjata, who grew up in Beverly and was a star football player at Mount Carmel High School, laughingly admits acting was a long shot for him.
“I remember our English teacher, Mr. Taylor, would direct the school plays and was always after me to audition,” Sunjata recalled. “But I never did. I was pretty consumed by sports.”
Now 37, Sunjata has a long list of accomplishments. He’s been nominated for a Tony Award (“Take Me Out”), acted in films (“The Devil Wears Prada,” “Melinda and Melinda”) and is a member of the ensemble cast in the critically acclaimed television show “Rescue Me,” where he plays Puerto Rican firefighter and ladies’ man Franco Rivera.
“Dan is a very solid actor,” said “Rescue Me” co-creator and executive producer Peter Tolan. “Whatever you give him, he does something interesting with it.”
Sunjata will get extra attention in the fifth… Continue reading
World Trade Center crashed perhaps gravel because someone had placed combustible nano materials in the buildings, and not because the two aircraft were throbbing in them. Analysis of the dust after the WTC has just published a scientific article, including Neils Harrit, a Danish chemist.
Photo: Asbestos and glass flew around New York streets when the Twin Towers collapsed after the attack on the World Trade Center 11 September 2001. Now it appears that these materials had company in the dust of højenergetisk material which might have melted the supporting structure of the Twin Towers. (Photo: Federal Emergency Management Agency)
It was apparently not only office equipment, walls and ceilings, which were pulverized and spread over large parts of Manhattan as the World Trade Center in 2001 was hit by two aircraft during a violent terrorist attacks against the United States.
The dust contained, according to a scientific article also traces of well-nanothermit – a custom-made material with so much energy that it can develop tremendous heat and be decidedly explosive (see box at… Continue reading
Explosives Found in World Trade Center Dust: Scientists Discover Both Residues And Unignited Fragments Of High-Tech Metal Incendiaries In Debris From the Twin Towers – A non-technical guide to the newly published paper explaining the identification of nano-engineered explosive materials in dust from the Twin Towers
Introduction – The scientific paper Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe conclusively shows the presence of unignited aluminothermic explosives in dust samples from the Twin Towers, whose chemical signature matches previously documented aluminothermic residues found in the same dust samples. The present review of the paper and related research is intended to summarize those findings for the non-technical reader. To that end, I first provide a short introduction to the subject of aluminothermic explosives, then outline the methods and results of analysis of the dust samples, and finally explore the significance of these findings.
Wake Up and Smell the Aluminothermic Nanocomposite Explosives: As Documentation of Thermitic Materials in the WTC Twin Towers Grows, Official Story Backers Ignore, Deny, Evade, and Dissemble – A detailed record of the development of bodies of evidence showing the use of aluminothermic pyrotechnics
Introduction – The obliteration of the Twin Towers was the centerpiece of the event that launched the ‘War on Terror’. Shocking on multiple levels, the events were especially traumatic for Americans, being the first bombing on the US mainland in modern history that killed thousands of people — civilians — in one day. Given the collective psychological trauma of the attack, it is not surprising that public discourse would remain free of observations that the destruction of the Twin Towers bore obvious features of controlled demolitions.…Continue reading

I used to take a certain pride by association with prominent Bronxites who have “made it.” Cancel that for Attorney General Eric Holder and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
You might think that as African-Americans, they would be especially outraged by torture, given what blacks have suffered at the hands of white torturers in this country and abroad.
Why is it that they seem to value more their admittance into a privileged white-dominated ruling class than doing the right thing? How else to explain their stunning reluctance to hold torturers accountable and thus remove the stain of torture from our nation’s soul and reputation?
One might say that Attorney General Holder is proving himself to be part of that “nation of cowards” that he called the United States in a different context, i.e. our unwillingness to address the issue of race. What about when the victims of torture are Muslims? Where’s Holder’s courage then?
Surely, I was not the only one stunned by former Vice President Dick Cheney’s public admission that he helped authorize waterboarding of detainees. But, on reflection, there seems to have been a method to his madness; and, so far at least, the method seems to be working.
Have Holder and Colin Powell forgotten from their days growing up in the Bronx the typical reaction of bullies when caught in the act? “Okay, so waddaya gonna do ’bout it!” It was an attempt at intimidation, and it was generally… Continue reading

Study: Scientists Discover Active Thermitic Material in WTC Dust
Berkeley, CA, April 3, 2009 — A new study by independent scientists and researchers suggests the cause behind the catastrophic destruction of World Trade Center Towers on September 11th can be seen in the dust itself: active thermitic material, a highly engineered explosive.
The study, published today in The Open Chemical Physics Journal , describes a finding of “red/gray bi-layered chips” in samples of dust taken from vicinity of the World Trade Center following its destruction. Using tools such as a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS) to analyze the material, the study authors concluded that, “the red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.”
The study’s finding lends new support to the demolition theory put forth by critics of the official reports.
At a time when the American public is finding it difficult to understand the full story behind the current economic crisis, findings of a demolition raise new questions about how the ‘War on Terror’ — an enormous source of recent American spending — was started.
Officials with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), charged with establishing… Continue reading

The President of Mexico has an unfortunate message for Americans still ignorant of the Drug War’s cold realities: Some of your politicians are involved.
Yes folks, it is long-past time to start thinking about alternative strategies for combating both the harmful effects of drug addiction and the deadly effects of forcing an economy outside of the law.
“It is impossible to pass tons of drugs and cocaine to U.S. without some great complicity of some American authorities,” said Mexican President Felipe Calderone.
“There is traffic in Mexico because there is corruption in Mexico. And that is true. But with the same argument, if there is traffic in United States, it is because there is some corruption in United States.”
Calderone’s comments come at 3:01 in the following video.
For MUCH more excellent reporting about drug running in and out of US/Mexico, see investigative journalist Daniel Hopsicker’s site, Mad Morning News, at www.madcowprod.com . Hopsicker’s latest film is “New American Druglords” .
A few recent story headlines –
Carlos Slim, the Mexican billionaire whose $250 million cash infusion bailed the New York Times out of a tight cash crunch last week, has long-standing business ties with wealthy Mexican businessmen suspected of involvement in Mexico’s so-called “Cartel of the Southeast,” the drug trafficking organization (DTO) based in Cancun which came to light two years ago with the crash on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula of an American-registered (N987SA) Gulfstream jet… Continue reading

“Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe” by Niels H. Harrit, Jeffrey Farrer, Steven E. Jones, Kevin R. Ryan, Frank M. Legge, Daniel Farnsworth, Gregg Roberts, James R. Gourley and Bradley R. Larsen
The paper ends with this sentence: “Based on these observations, we conclude that the red layer of the red/gray chips we have discovered in the WTC dust is active, unreacted thermitic material, incorporating nanotechnology, and is a highly energetic pyrotechnic or explosive material.”
In short, the paper explodes the official story that “no evidence” exists for explosive/pyrotechnic materials in the WTC buildings.
What is high-tech explosive/pyrotechnic material in large quantities doing in the WTC dust? Who made tons of this stuff and why? Why have government investigators refused to look for explosive residues in the WTC aftermath?
These are central questions raised by this scientific study.
The peer-review on this paper was grueling, with pages of comments by referees. The tough questions the reviewers raised led to months of further experiments. These studies… Continue reading

Yesterday, John Feal, along with several other 9/11 First Responders went down to Washington D.C. to attend the hearing on the James Zadroga 9/11 Health And Compensation Act. From what I understand, he was singled out by the Congressmen, and applauded for his efforts. I want to say congratulations John. Just to give people an idea of how much you’ve fought for the responders, here’s a little tribute to you (that barely covers your fight). Thank you for doing the right thing. I am very proud to say that you are my friend.
The EPA is a “bunch of brainiacs and bookworms who just look at numbers but don’t look at people’s pain,” said John Feal, a construction worker who lost half a foot in an accident while working in “the pit” at Ground Zero. “The people [downtown] and in Brooklyn pay taxes and deserve to know their tax money is going to protect their health.”
John Feal – [NYMetro, 12/13/2005]
John Feal, Valenti’s friend and the founder of the Feal Good Foundation, an advocacy group for 9/11 first responders suffering from ground zero-related illnesses, called the workers’ compensation ruling encouraging, but added that more must be done to help those who have gotten sick. “Individually, that’s great,” said Feal, a demolition supervisor who lost part of his foot when it was crushed by an eight-ton beam during the recovery effort at ground zero. “What stinks is that so many… Continue reading

Glenn Beck of Fox News astonished many viewers recently when he repeatedly reduced himself to tears while announcing his “9.12 Project” to save the nation.
However, Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert expressed only pleasure with Beck’s performance.
“My Glenn Beck fantasy came true,” Colbert announced on Tuesday. “The fantasy where a hysterical Glenn Beck tells his audience of desperate shut-ins through tears and spittle that vague unnamed enemies have failed them and that it’s time to take angry action.”
“Are you ready to be that person that you were that day after 9/11?” Beck tearfully asked his audience.
Colbert helpfully explained that Beck is attempting to get us to move “beyond the fear we felt on 9/11 to the compassion we felt on 9/12. And hopefully, we’ll all eventually get to the way Glenn felt on 9/9 of 2005.”
On that date, Beck said, “You know, it took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims’ families. … When I see a 9/11 victim family on television of whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh, shut up!’ I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining.”
“Good point!” Colbert exclaimed, as his audience gasped in shock. “The 9.12 Project is not for families directly affected by 9/11 — just people building their careers on it.”
“I’m sorry,” Beck apologized during another of his bouts of weeping. “I just love my country — and I fear for it.”
This heartfelt declaration choked Colbert up as well.… Continue reading

This last week-end of March, I had decided to hold a “9/11 Truth Garage
Sale” to make a Spring clean in my Brussels house. As my twins grew into
teens, you can imagine that I gradually assembled quite a lot of clutter.
Photo – 9/11 Truth in neon-lights, complete with Richard Gage’s video in the walk-by evening sound & light show!
A “9/11 Truth Garage Sale” is an excellent way to learn to know one’s neighbors
better. The 9/11 Truth theme allows you to easily start talking about the important
issues surrounding what really happened on September 11th 2001.
Already a member of Medical Professionals for 9/11 Truth, I felt a surge of excitement at the
idea of inviting (together with www.vigli.org) Prof David Ray Griffin to come
to speak in Brussels. The last time we had this much fun, was when we had Richard
Gage over in November 2008 : read more here.) (Details of Dr. Griffin’s European tour are posted at timeforasecondlook.com.)
Always looking for ways to break the ice on the subject of 9/11 Truth, and
needing to publicize DRG’s conference which hopes to greet more than 600 paying
citizens, I put in an ad for a “9/11 Truth Garage Sale” in the local English
speaking weekly paper.
The back of my house was once a hairdressing salon, and later an internet-call-phone-shop. I had a big neon sign doing no good towards the back of my… Continue reading

Those of you following the George W. Bush prosecution trail will be interested to know that Patrick Leahy’s “truth commission” is a no-go. I was in a meeting with Leahy and four other Vermonters on Monday when he broke the news to us.
We had asked for the meeting to learn why he supported a truth commission over the appointment of a special prosecutor.
Halfway through the allotted 30 minute meeting (with him taking up much of the time explaining why he was not generally opposed to prosecution, since he had been a DA for eight years and had the highest conviction rate in Vermont), he told us that his truth commission had failed to get the broad support it needed in Congress, and since he couldn’t get one Republican to come behind the plan, “it’s not going to happen.”
It was a sobering exchange. The meeting had begun with our expressing serious concerns about ongoing dangers to our democracy, with the trend going to executive power while damaging our Constitution.
“We are a nation of laws,” said Dan DeWalt, who had helped organize 36 Vermont towns to vote for impeachment of Bush on town meeting day. “If we have a system of justice, why not let it take its course? It seems to many Americans that the rich and powerful don’t have the same system of justice, and they’re getting away with torture, murder, fraud, and Ponzi schemes.”
By the end of the meeting, we were beginning to wonder whether anything at all was going to done — by Congress, by Attorney General Eric Holder, by President Barack Obama — to hold the Bush team accountable for its crimes.…Continue reading

Empire Burlesque – Chris-floyd.com
Here’s a purely hypothetical scenario. Let’s say you were a dedicated imperial militarist who believed that your country’s security, prestige and financial interests could best be served by war and the ever-present threat of war. Let’s say you had some really hot and juicy operations going on, endless deadly conflicts that were pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into your war machine and entrenching national policy even more deeply in the militarist philosophy — the machtpolitik – that you believe in.
But there’s a problem. The general public — the cow-like herd out there that doesn’t understand grand strategy the way you and your fellow elites do — is growing weary, and wary, of your Long War. The national treasury is bankrupt, the national infrastructure is rotting, the nation’s communities are dying; millions of people are out of work, losing their homes, losing their dreams, spiraling down into want, privation and despair. Yet you have big plans to escalate the war, expand your war machine, and maintain the global dominance that you believe is the right and natural role for your special nation — and its elites. What to do? How to galvanize the truculent, self-absorbed herd into enthusiastically supporting your vital agenda once more?
Well, here’s one purely hypothetical approach you might try. You goad and provoke violent extremist groups into retaliating against your attacks, your civilian-slaughtering invasions and incursions into their territory. Being unable to confront directly your… Continue reading
Pols: 9/11 workers likely to get health help
BY Tom Brune
March 31, 2009
WASHINGTON — Sponsors of a bill to compensate and cover health care costs
of ailing 9/11 responders and recovery workers predicted Tuesday the House would
pass the long-pending legislation this year.
New York Democratic Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Carolyn Maloney, of Manhattan,
key sponsors of the measure, said the bill’s ultimate fate lies in the Senate,
where Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) has promised to introduce a companion bill.
"We have a really good chance of passing this," Nadler said.
Added Maloney, "We’re going to get it done. We’re going to pass this bill."
Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) said some Republicans would join Democrats in voting
for the bill. Nadler said if Congress passes a bill President Barack Obama has
said he would sign it.
Nadler and Maloney made their predictions to two busloads of retired police,
firefighters and other workers harmed by their work on the pile or nearby who
had come down for a hearing on the bill. They are among the thousands of 9/11
responders whose ailments did not become apparent until after the 911 Victims
Compensation Fund closed in 2003.
Nadler and Maloney have proposed a $11-billion fund to both cover health costs
and provide compensation. The bill also would limit the liability of the city
and the contractors and subcontractors that took part in the recovery and clean
up at Ground Zero.
Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) and Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington) also expressed
optimism and support for the bill after the hearing and in the pep talk to the

In an interview on NPR’s Fresh Air yesterday, host Terry Gross asked investigative journalist Seymour Hersh if, as he continues to investigate the Bush administration, “more people” were “coming forward” to talk to him now that “the president and vice president are no longer in power.” Hersh replied that though “a lot of people that had told me in the last year of Bush, ‘call me next, next February,’ not many people had talked to him. He implied that they were still scared of Cheney.
“Are you saying that you think Vice President Cheney is still having a chilling effect on people who might otherwise be coming forward,” asked Gross. “I’ll make it worse,” answered Hersh, adding that he believes Cheney “put people back” in government to “stay behind” in order to “tell him what’s going on” and perhaps even “do sabotage”:
HERSH: I’ll make it worse. I think he’s put people left. He’s put people back. They call it a stay behind. It’s sort of an intelligence term of art. When you leave a country and, you know, you’ve driven out the, you know, you’ve lost the war. You leave people behind. It’s a stay behind… Continue reading
Professor David Ray Griffin, renowned author of a series of eye-opening books that recount his painstaking research into the attacks of September 11, 2001, begins his new European tour in London on 14th April. Stressing the fact that the time has come for a second look at the events of that fateful day, the tour will include stops in Paris, Brussels and Madrid, and several other cities.
Professor Griffin’s talks will afford the public an excellent opportunity to learn more about the fundamental questions surrounding 9/11. The 9/11 Truth Movement, which started out as a disparate, grass-roots undertaking, has blossomed into a serious community that now includes many specialized branches, such as Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Lawyers for 9/11 Truth, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Medical Professionals for 9/11 Truth, Political Leaders for 9/11 Truth, Religious Leaders for 9/11 Truth, Veterans for 9/11 Truth, and Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice (a group which includes a significant number of prominent scientists). Many former intelligence officers also support the movement and have contributed to the ever-growing list of evidence that proves far beyond a reasonable doubt that the explanations provided by the Bush-Cheney administration are quite simply false.
As Professor Griffin states, “The mainstream media are reluctant to discuss the subject and politicians are loath to delve into disturbing facts that ultimately indicate that America has gone to war on false pretences.” Griffin says abundant evidence now exists that proves the Bush-Cheney administration broke… Continue reading
On February 11, 2009, 911truth.org posted notice "9/11 Health Bill Reintroduced
in Congress–CALL NOW," including this intro:
Rep. Maloney has posted a very useful link at her House website: World
Trade Center Health Registry–Number of Registrants by State and Congressional
District based on June 2007 current addresses. When you call your Representative
to ask him/her to cosponsor H.R. 847, you might mention the number of first
responders from your district, and your state, listed on the Health Registry.
All 50 states are included. Maloney states, "…at least 10,000 people
came from around the country to help in the aftermath of the attacks."
Clearly, this is a national issue and we challenge ANY Representative to give
a valid reason why s/he should not support a bill that provides needed care,
especially for their own constituents!
TODAY, we appeal to you to do this again, now. FealGood Foundation
members and supporters will travel to Washington DC tomorrow to attend a markup
hearing on this bill, and your support will make a huge difference in the response
they get. At this point, the number of Cosponsors of HR847 has grown to 55 (list of cosponsors can be found at http://thomas.gov, enter HR 847 in search bar and click the ‘bill number’ button, then search.); yet the health registry includes registrants from all 50 states.
We need to each make our own Rep aware of this information with just a quick
