The Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a technical briefing at 11 a.m. EDT on August 26, 2008, at its campus in Gaithersburg, Md., on the findings and recommendations from its building and fire safety investigation of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7). WTC 7 was a 47- story building that fell nearly seven hours after the World Trade Center towers collapsed following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Completed over a three-year period, the NIST WTC 7 investigation presents the probable collapse sequence for the building and provides recommendations for improving building and fire safety in other buildings similar to WTC 7.

Shyam Sunder, director of the NIST Building and Fire Research Laboratory and lead investigator for the federal building and fire safety investigation of the World Trade Center disaster, will present the report and answer questions via webcast from invited technical persons.

Testifying before the 9/11 Commission General Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the commission in response to a question on NORAD's failure to anticipate the 9/11 attacks, "I can't answer the hypothetical. It's more - it's the way that we were directed to posture, looking outward."(1) This is utterly false. As we will see below NORAD, since its inception in 1958, was tasked to monitor and intercept aircraft flying over American and Canadian air space seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

She organized premieres of films, educational events, marches, rallies for 9-11 Truth, the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9-11, and produced the film Behind Every Terrorist- There is a Bush. She is also a mother of three boys and held a weekly Listening Project in downtown Palo Alto from October 2001 to October 2007, now she holds it once a month on the 11th, in solidarity with other 9/11 Truth activists worldwide. She ran for Congress in 2006 on the Green Party ticket on a 9-11 Truth, Peace, Impeachment platform and will be on the ballot again in 2008.

While at the moment the destruction of WTC7 is the prime focus of the media, there are many other issues raised by people who challenge the government account of 9/11/01. In this interview hosted by the "Conscience of Kansas" Conservative Paul Ibbetson, listeners have the opportunity to hear more than just brief soundbites dismissed as if they have no significance. Thus, it is a public dialogue providing an opportunity for listeners to make up their own minds on the issues, or choose to look further at some of the evidence presented, but makes it far less easy to simply dismiss these ideas as ludicrous ramblings of a "nut," as happens in most corporate media "interviews." With this kind of reasoned discussion offered, we can allow ourselves to acknowledge our intellectual curiosity, rather than giving in to preconceived "beliefs." Any criminal investigation must disavow personal beliefs in order to delve into the facts. Ask questions, do the research, draw your own conclusions.

Once upon a time in America, the media would have presented the public with opposing views expressed by the professionals at Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth (ae911truth.org) when an agency such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) exclaimed, after years of research, that simple office fires led to the unprecedented collapse of WTC 7. Circa 1949 - 1985, the media followed what was known as the fairness doctrine. Now reduced to nothing more than a propaganda slogan by Fox, there was a time when holders of broadcast licenses were required by the FCC to present fair and balanced coverage on controversial issues of public interest. After all, the airwaves are owned by the public. There once was a time when the media let the public evaluate controversial issues on the merits of the arguments presented. Twenty-one years after President Reagan vetoed Congress' attempt to codify the Fairness Doctrine, many Americans still assume this doctrine holds sway.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers has asked current and former White House aides and ex-CIA officials to respond to questions about an alleged scheme to create a bogus letter in late 2003 linking Saddam Hussein to al-Qaeda.

In sending the interview requests Wednesday, Conyers is following up on a disputed story in journalist Ron Suskind's new book, The Way of the World: A Story of Truth and Hope in an Age of Extremism, which includes an account of how the mysterious letter originated.
